No reason for Chicago or SJ to want him unless he comes with a 1st or 2nd round pick. Columbus, maybe, for next to nothing.

Chicago and San Jose are trying to create a roster that isn't so f***ing atrocious that Bedard and Celebrini are spending an hour after each game staring at a dark pit of despair.

Dvorak would give both teams a useful veteran player that helps them in the smaller details of the game and might result in more than 10 wins on a season.

Kapanen can play wings until we trade Dvorak or Evans.

HuGo may want to see how Dach is responding and if hes is ok healthy wise before making a move at center.
Where is kap going to play wing? There is one spot. For Roy I guess. This camp is all about roy vs kap. Roy better step up. He should not be gifted a spot.

It makes absolutely no sense to give up assets or waste a retention spot to get rid of Dvorak at this point. Habs don't have cap space issues.
If they want to make a roster spot for Kapanen, they can just waive Dvorak and send him to Laval, like they did with Armia last season.

They can always send Roy to Laval to start the season until there's an injury. It'll probably not be fair for him but he'll survive.
Might be a better solution to keep their depth at center.
Agreed. Roy has to kill it this camp or he will go down while kap stays.

Uh no we cant if healthy. A decision will have to be made if kap forces the issue.

Just waive Dvorak if Kapanen forces the issue. He's actual salary this season is 5.75 mil, there almost no chance he gets claimed. And if there are injuries later he's a call up option.

Guys like Dvo are worth a lot more for a playoff team looking for depth and special teams players at the deadline. You can always put Kapanen on the wing and take his strong side face offs to take the pressure off him to start and ease him into center when there's an injury or a trade, Remember Suzuki started as a 4th line winger until he showed what he could do and slotted into to center later.

I'm sure Habs will have a plan on how to keep him on the roster and develop him as he's not going back to the SHL.

It's possible if at the end of training camp they need to send a lot of their prospects to junior and the AHL and they need to fill the roster. They may be able to find a cheaper player though.

It's not even possible to recoup value from dvo I'd trade him for almost anything now that we have guys pushing for spots. Send him to Columbus or something for a 3rd; they need to reach the cap floor.

Pezz needs to go down
Why?

He’s one of the few physical forwards we have. He knows his role, acts accordingly and he makes peanuts. And a guy who keeps everything loose in the room, a “glue guy” as they say today. I’d much rather have Pezz out there than some soft token player. Pezz is about as big of a non issue as we have. Guy has taken on Ryan Reeves twice for the team. Teammates love and appreciate a man willing to do the tough things, plus it takes some pressure off of Arber to be a full time enforcer.

Just play him until Tuch, Xhekaj 2.0 and Davidson are ready.

I don't mean this just directed at you, but why would there only be one spot?

This team has finish 28th two years straight now. Very few guys should actually feel comfy.
