Nope. Teams will be interested because they'll have a better development path for him. His value isn't high but it's not worthless either.
He's had many opportunities with us and will get more. He's definitely worth something right now, i'dd be happy with a 2nd round pick, anything less and i would hold on to him.

How do you know Zegras sucks? Have you watched him play? Habs probably need a more physical 2c but Zegras can put up points.
I'll admit i'm stat watching him, but his last 2 seasons combined he's currently sitting at 25 points in 54 games, not great. I've heard from different analysts speaking that he's not really the guy we want in our top 6, and he's not suitable for bottom 6. We can do better, and we might already have better in Dach. I'm not ready to trade Dach yet, he needs to sit for a few games to reset, but he deserves this season and the next to prove himself.

The sheer fact that Gorton and MSL were focused on referees after the game in NY shows they are not in the right mindset. You complain about refs when you are competing every night and get some bad decisions affecting the results, not when you lose 16 out of 24 and one time you show up against a team playing poor hockey it costs you a point. Is it the refs fault they cannot reach 30 shots ? Seriously, culture of excuse continues… NYR is a bad team right now they lost 6 of the last 7, the Habs is the only team which could not beat them.

You are going to get wethree wound up now

Nah, I disagree with pretty much everything that poster says. Sometimes it's enough to know that we don't see eye to eye on much.

I don't think it's that at all. They saw their team play a game they deserved to win and bring some positivity forward. Instead they were robbed blind of the effort they put in and the game they played. I'm glad they showed emotion and wanted it for their team.

Wish Marty had shown that fire.

I wouldn't trade Dach fror him. Dach is more what Habs need as a 2c if he returns to peak form. But for the right deal I would take him. I haven't watched the Ducks much either but I likely will especially if Habs are tanking and we need Ducks to get points. Zegras can be used on the wing if he isn't the right fit at centre but I doubt he is available.

It’s not the GMs, it’s owners. Pegula made it clear to both his GMs he wanted ROR & Eichel out of the conference “at all costs”.

Out of sight, only playing them a reduced # of GP helps save face
This is part of why Vegas and Florida get all these deadline trades. Nobody gives a shit about them so your fans won't hound you for trading guys there. Calgary was never going to trade Hanifin to the Oilers when they could just trade him to Vegas instead where Sportsnet won't talk about him 3 times a week.

KH don't make any huge moves.
but please get us a 3nd line player that plays hard and can hit and forecheck but not a 5 foot player
A big-ass player who doesn't forecheck would be more frustrating than a tiny doberman who scares everyone.

How about we go back in time, clone Steve Begin and bring him back in the line up? :D

With the cap going up and Gallagher and Anderson entering the last years of their deals, maybe a retention opportunity is back on the table for them this summer. Retain 3M on Gally and 2.5M on Anderson.

Gally would be 3.5M for 2 years, Anderson would be 3M for 2 years

Gallagher has two more years and his contract ends mid 2027. Then he will be 35 years old. So, Gallagher at 36 and 37 ... definitely no. There will be a lot of players floating around that should/will be better.

If we could have them all in their prime I would love to have them back as a line:

Travis Moen / Maxim Lapierre / Ryan White

Big hitting heavy line. The early 00’s year is when they always have a beefy line for the 4th at some point. Miss having that element.

He would be 33 and 34 for the last 2 years and should be worth 3 mil to some teams. So thenthe ex question would be what could Habs get for him and what could they do with the extra 3 mil.
