At some point, it didn't go well for Max and he was sent down. He was so pissed that when he returned he had a drive and became the top player that he got known for. Maybe that's what they need to do with Dach.

But when Dach joined us, he was good. Esp. when they paired him with CC and Suz. But he got injured and he has sucked this season. He just stopped being physical, he's not being himself. That's why we need a hard ass coach to make him realise this.
We could all tell by Pacioretty’s 3rd season that he was special. Chicago got rid of Dach, a3rd overall after 3 seasons only and is now in his 6th season and look terrible.

I don’t like the fact Chicago gave u on him so fast and I think they saw something that I think we are now seeing. Part of it must be his lack intensity, his nonchalance and his poor work ethic.

Have you seen who the canes coach is?

KK would not get any icetime with poor work ethic.

KK's on-ice work ethic is generally fine. He's the first one to get benched if it isn't. It's his off-ice work ethic that has been questioned particularly summer training.

He's a 2nd/3rd line tweener. He's not good enough offensively to be a true 2nd line center, but his physicality and his willingness to go to the net opens the ice for his linemates particularly Necas. He's not good enough defensively to be a shut down, 3rd line guy like Jordan Staal either.

The guy we're really missing is Monahan. He could carry his own line. There's not much available out there right now.

I wonder if we could entice TB in a Primeau for Johansson+ swap? Pretty confident it would be an upgrade for them with a limited cap increase. Also gives them the chance to get a cheap goalie next year as Primeau is still RFA (and they have nothing in the pipeline).

On the Habs side, they would send Johansson on waivers and try Dobes and Hughes as backups.

You're completely wrong on both Pacioretty and Markov. Both had to be sent down and a lot of people and posters here thought Pacioretty would be a bust, until he asked to be sent down and lit it up with Desharnais in the AHL. Markov took off in his third season, but had a really tough year in 2003-2004 after his father's death. Lots of players take time. Chicago let Strome go the same year as Dach and he's become a great player for Washington. Newhook isn't going to be special, but he can become a serviceable and versatile player with time. Dach, we still don't know what we have as he's missed so much time, but he looked like a legitimate top 6 player before the injury.
I knew after a couple of seasons that Markov and Pacioretty were going to be special players and both were already impactful in their 3rd season with Montreal.

Dach and Newhook are in their 6th and 5th seasons and still have not made the impact Max and Andrei had.

So no, I am not wrong, I am actually right.

No, you would be wrong again. Both started coming into their own in their D+5, I don't know why you would not count the seasons they spent elsewhere after their draft, it's frankly disingenuous not to. Pacioretty in particular was a draft pick many were bashing until he asked to be sent down and made strides in his game. Dach did in his D+4 then got a major injury in his D+5 that has derailed his progress. Newhook was very good down the stretch last year and was pacing for 50 points. Lots of players are looking bad this year due to the team being dysfunctional on the ice, it's hard to make any projections on the roster right now due to it.

I know I am right, but we will agree to disagree.
