What about Slaf for Jiricek, considering he's a better pick at 1OA. Wait a minute, this is 2024! Sorry, I was stuck in the past. :sarcasm:
Are you telling me that a big, mobile, physical RHD can be the wrong pick in the top-5? Especially when superior offensive talent is on the board?

Dubas wants that AGM role here when he gets fired, that simple

More I think about it, more I keep returning to KK. Not even cause he played for us but more cause he would be a great fit. Depth-wise it would be amazing if you think about it. Decent size, some gritt, some skills, and given our troubles with centers, esp. the way Dach is struggling, KK could help since he can play on every lines.

Now I know maybe trading him for Dvorak is not attractive for them but Dvorak comes off the books next year. So it would be a weight lifted off their shoulders getting rid of KK's contract in a one on one trade. I mentioned Dvorak but it could be someone else.
Why would a contending team trade their 24 YO 2C for Dvorak? How does that make any sense? The other two centers they have played less than 12 and 11 minutes in their last game.

4.8 millions isn't even a bad contract, it's bordering on good.

Are you telling me that a big, mobile, physical RHD can be the wrong pick in the top-5? Especially when superior offensive talent is on the board?
Nooooooooo

He has something to do with the 4 nations cup ?

Cause Canada's goaltending is f***ing Horrendous, so he's likely fixated on Monty and a little bit on Suzuki as he could be a decent 4th liner for Canada at the tournament

I'm pretty sure he's only there on 4 nations tournament duty, but I'd love to be wrong on that.
If he was there 1 or 2 times I’d buy it. But 5 times is excessive and why in Montreal? He’s in Pittsburg which a lot closer to a lot of other NHL rinks. He’s still the GM for the Pens and those duties are above the 4 Nations Cup ones. I see smoke.

Couple trades I'd make closer to Laine return date:

Crouse
McBain
for
Newhook
Dvorak

Anderson
Barron
Heineman/pick
for
Couturier (2.5M retained)
Cates

Lines:
Slafkovsky - Suzuki - Caufield
Laine - Couturier - Dach
Crouse - McBain - Armia
Cates - Evans - Gallagher

I'm in full agreement.
Crosby for Dvo!
...as stated by a commenter on the post ;)

Likely one of their RD for a young player.

Was it the last 5 times the Habs played in Montreal ?

If there is a deal and given how Crosby is untouchable and Malkin would probably stay I could see Letang being OK with leaving to go to only Montreal and shouldn't cost a lot, but that's stretching things and would be the only big name.

Habs might have interest in Drew O'Connor who's got size and speed for the bottom 6, or just to give a chance to in the top 6.

Depending on the teams the Habs played, it could just be a convenience to watch Monty/Suzuki and players on the other team.

That’s what Starr says which is what makes it stand out so much. Both teams are hungry to deal which further adds to the validity of the post.

Big, mobile and physical doesn't have much value if you have no hockey sense. Reinbacher does. Jiricek is to be determined.

Why would Utah do this? Crouse is worth a lot despite his production this year.

Let go, especially since it's shitty ass comparison.

I think it's an inevitable comparison for as long as the players are in the league. They've only just started so you're a bit hasty with the "let go".

Pretty insightful comments from Torts

Oilers
Jackets
4 away games
Flames
2 away games
Kraken
1 away game
Blues

From most recent to oldest.
Alright that's a bit more interesting.

Mcdavid is a given. Maybe Hyman for an extra viewing.

Jackets can't think of anyone for team Canada. Fantilli is clearly not at that level yet.

Kraken has no one who should be no one considered.

Flames. - Weegar.

Blues - Kyrou, Parayko, Bennington. All 3 should be on the outside looking in, but Canada's goaltending is ooooof

Not a whole lot of tweeners
