Been saying this for years but need to repeat it.
Don't ever let anyone tell you that “Salary Cap Hell” is a real thing.
Its not

Unless that prospect and pick is Reinbacher and the Flames 1st, I think it's a pretty easy no for them.He should be target No. 1 for us. We have bunch of assets to use and I would not mind if we even overpay little bit. We can include Matheson, prospect and pick. Isles are so mediocre, he might even consider the move.
He's having a horrible year and I'd be shocked if the Isles didn't make some moves in the offseason. Crazier things have happened but ultimately it will totally depend on him and if he wants out or not. He's going to get an astronomical contract (well-deserved) and I doubt the Isles move him.
He's been bad this year, looks slow out there. Is Trouba really that bad?
I know they placed Goodrow on waivers and Sharks claimed him. But did Sharks and Rangers have a second deal for compensation?
Got even slower now that there’s no chance he’ll be a Hab. Plus, has a dozen other defects that were unfathomable before he become a Duck. He's been bad this year, looks slow out there.
This is Drury not wanting to get canned by Dolan. The lure of the Big Apple will more than compensate a GM using the waiver wire as a lever to ditch a toxic player. Trouba was the team’s captain and something must also have been brewing in the dressing room for the GM to want to take such immediate action.
The fact of the GM having known assholishness tendencies, likely means a shorter fuse and a context ripe for contentiousness.
This is where a fair and likeable GM like Hughes can use the welcoming environment he’s created with Gorton, to try and lure those players who have soured on their prospects elsewhere.

Nope.
Tuch is likely back. Xhekaj is there, Arseneau is there and they have some other players who are willing to engage.
He's either going to a really, really soft organization and honestly, that's Carolina, so he must be going overseas.
Makes no sense for Laval.
If Laval can add anyone, it should be in a trade for a young player who isn't considered a vet and can produce.
Habs play them monday nightGudas and Trouba on the same team. Cheap shots galore.
No thanks.Crosby for Dach, Habs 2026's 1st and Mailloux
Gudas and Trouba on the same team. Cheap shots galore.
He’s going to have to deal with Ross Johnston first.Isn't Arber on record with regards to wanting a piece of Gudas?
Wrong reason. If a player can help, you keep him.He didn’t play all too physical though, and his actual performance was not really moving the needle. He’s up for a payday as a UFA and we had at least two rookies very close to the lineup.
Cutting Kovacevic loose wasn’t a bad idea, besides, it was a favour to him too.
The bad idea was acquiring Barron in the first place and it was compounded by sticking with Barron despite his lack of growth and development. He’s afraid of contact! There’s not much you can do with someone with average talent and minimal physicality.
The context is different. We had a lot of young dmen and they bet on progress from some of them and valued the potential progress more than whatever Kovacevic would bring.Wrong reason. If a player can help, you keep him.
So you are telling me Barron + Newhook + 2nd is not enough? I really like Reinbacher, but I would consider that bet if we get Dobson signed at reasonable price.Unless that prospect and pick is Reinbacher and the Flames 1st, I think it's a pretty easy no for them.
No they didn't . There is years before we knonw what they will beThe context is different. We had a lot of young dmen and they bet on progress from some of them and valued the potential progress more than whatever Kovacevic would bring.
It was a minor gamble on the growth of Barron and Struble. They both failed
If using Reinbacher and other pieces can land Dobson, 6’4, RHD, only 24, you have to do it. The other pieces would probably hurt but you’d have a stud over the next decade in a tough to fill position.Reinbacher
Who knows
This guy now 3 years away from the big club
Best plan for now ....if he turns out bonus
Reinbacher won't be back on skates soon enough for Isles to consider him a valuable piece. They'd have to go on instinct and I doubt they pull the trigger without seeing Reinbacher play at least one NHL shift. If using Reinbacher and other pieces can land Dobson, 6’4, RHD, only 24, you have to do it. Trade offer can be made in the summer when Reinbacher should be cleared from his injury.Reinbacher won't be back on skates soon enough for Isles to consider him a valuable piece. They'd have to go on instinct and I doubt they pull the trigger without seeing Reinbacher play at least one NHL shift.
Yeah, but he would have played 0 NHL shifts, so it's a blind bet for the Isles.Trade offer can be made in the summer when Reinbacher should be cleared from his injury.
Is Dobson available? If using Reinbacher and other pieces can land Dobson, 6’4, RHD, only 24, you have to do it. The other pieces would probably hurt but you’d have a stud over the next decade in a tough to fill position.
