He has 5 years left on that contract and a NMC. He won’t waive and I don’t want any part of that.

5 including this year at 5.5 doesn't look terrible currently but most likely will in a few years. You never. Know, perhaps he would like to play on a team that isn't in the basement. He clearly had something left in the tank as he is one of 3 players on the Hawks that has a positive plus minus. Currently he has 14 assists on the year which puts him on pace for 35 points. The price being right would bexpect interesting to see Keith paired with Weber. Worst case scenario most likely would mean that the top pair would be amazing grooming for youth coming in, especially if they trade Petry.

I can’t believe anyone that has watched Chicago play this season would be looking to take on Duncan Keith.

I haven't been able to see him play this year so purely Stat watching currently but it would be interesting to see Canada's top defensive pairing from the 2014 Olympics.

I would love to have that pairing as well. If it were 2014. In 2018/19, Keith, especially with his contract is a burden.

Petry (sell high) vs young LD.
Shaw (sell high) vs young LD.
Schlemwho vs wtv.
Benn vs wtv.
Niemi vs wtv.

This summer, you draft shitload of D - and explore trade market (1v1 style) to bulk up the D.

No UFA signing obv.

I know most people would be opposed to it due to age, but how would Duncan Keith fit next to Weber? Chicago is going down hill and I feel like the price wouldn't be too high.

Sure, let's spend assets to get an overaged D while the habs are far from contenders. There is reasons why Hawks lose that much. They gave up way too many young players and picks for immediate help, and now they are getting older - and Keith is part of why the team is struggling. He is far from what he was.

Are there any worthwhile young Québécois talents around? Would be nice to get another Danault or something.
Danault is an NHLer and as long as the local player isn't going to wrongly play over any other player, I think it's only right to try to acquire local players. It should be a lesser priority.

Desharnais had no business playing over Eller and Galchenyuk and he had no business getting all the Ozone starts, leaving Pleks to fend for himself defensively. That shouldn't be and isn't the model to run any team.
Ahhahahah f*** I knew it, you cheeky bugger

I wouldn't say it's too bad considering other contracts that are around and people on here saying they would take on the lucic contract.

As mentioned above, if the price was right. As in low. I'm not saying to give up a bunch of assets to make a run at the cup, I'm saying if we can get a stop gap at LD like Keith to allow the prospects to grow, that it would be very helpful.

STL is listening to offers on Tarasenko. What would you be willing to give up?
Gah damn

Theyd want Kotkaniemi but Id try with

Tatar, first, 2nd and Suzuki/Poehling and maybe even another prospect like Fleury.

Tarasenko would look great on that team.

I think Id be willing to so Gally instead of Tatar, even.

How good would it feel to have a 40g scorer on this team.

Tarasenko’s game is falling like a rock. After 3 consecutive 70-75 pt seasons, he’s accumulated a measly 86 pts over his past 109 games.

I’d make a push, but wouldn’t break the bank for him at this point.

I wouldnt mind keeping Benn, hes fine as a 3rd pair RD, and with Petry going the team is going to be thin on RDs. Next in line on the pecking order is going to be Fleury, plus Benns value is low, a 4th maybe.

Hes 27, lets calm down there.
Yes he is 27. And for the past two seasons he’s been producing far below the value of what they’d want for him.

86 pts in 109 games. If he did that here, we’d be looking to move him for an overpay too.

Haha 86 pts in 109 games is still good production

We dont have the assets to trade for him unless we unload Poehling, Suzuki, Mete, Brook and picks

I agree it is good production. I’m just afraid people will be chasing him with the value of a PPG player, which he is far from at this point.

Yeah the STL fans are the worst at overrating prospects with Philly and TO.

oh god philly, I forgot about the Philly fan who always denies every proposal and over-hype his prospects, he has a gif as his picture.Anyway, Morgan frost is the next Mcdavid and they "robbed" St-Louis with that trade in 2017.... oh flyers fans

I would LOVE Tarassenko here, Such a hard worker and a great sniper. Not the tallest but oh man does he play with the Russian strength.

I would deal Poehling + first protected + B prospect for him, but I doubt people would do it. If we can deal a LW like him + a good top4 LHD we are set to win the cup

imagine Tarassenko/Kotka/Gallagher. holy f***ing hell, a sniper/playmaker/net presence.

Tarassenko/Kotka/Gallagher
Drouin/Domi/Suzuki
Lehkonen/Evans/Armia
Byron/Danault or chaput/Shaw

?/Weber
Mete/Petry
Reilly (losing a bit faith in Reilly)/Juulsen
