Re, Purcell: CHI, DAL, FLA, LA were are circling. Have to assume CHI is out. We'll see where it goes

Heard Freedman on the radio this morning, said it seems to be down to the Kings and Panthers. Says the Kings may have a slight edge at the moment.

We'll see what happens.

I doubt anyone can be excited about Purcell if that happens. We've seen that show before, and we know what he is. It's a matter of what Lombardi is willing to give to get. Or what's out there to get. He could potentially fill the need for a winger, a RW especially, that can possibly put up some points. He is what he is though.

He does have 7 goals and 18 points in 22 career playoff games. In contrast to Ladd's 8 goals and 16 points in 56 playoff games.

Dean must not be liking the asking price in the trade market for some of the other forwards out there if he's settling for Teddy Purcell. I hear he's afraid of his own shadow.

Both Purcell and Schultz, and then at some point the Kings will have both Schultz and Schultz as a pairing, and then they win the Cup by Shcultzing everyone.

the same Purcell that tampa gave for essentially a 6th round pick?

Pass.

Schultz is interesting though….MAYBE Doughty can help? Although he was always known as an "offensive threat" and he can't even be that in Edmonton.

Last thing I want for DD is another project.

Purcell (with some retention for cap) for Clifford.

I would not like it but on some demented level it could make sense.

i'd rather trade Nolan. Atleast Clifford doesn't run people into the boards for no reason in the offensive end.

Purcell would just be a fill-in until Gaborik gets back. Problem with Schultz is he'd have to play sheltered minutes and with Schenn needing sheltered minutes I'm not sure how it would work.

We really can't take on guys who are under contract for next year. No one is going to qualify Schultz at $3.9 million so he's effectively a UFA after this season. If these guys don't pan out, it would be no big deal. We aren't in a position to pay a premium for top players in a seller's market.

Of course, the question is: can we do better? In Dean I Trust.
