Yea it's something in the 7s for cap space, just Gaborik plus the 2.4. Not that it really matters, doesn't 2.5 million translate to like a 7M+ player?

I don't think that's accurate. The number shown there seems to already be prorated. Below it notes that the Jets have $54,733,140 in cap space. This chart seems to show that the Kings can only sign a player with an cap hit of $2,404,987 or lower.

Of course, putting Gaborik on LTIR would change that number.

Hearing that #Blackhawks have serious interest in Hamhuis & Vrbata. No word yet on whether Hamhuis is willing to waive NTC. #Canucks

Guess maybe price for Ladd was too steep for the Hawks...possibly opting for plan B

I think with gaborik out we need more scoring not another defenseman. We need to get the offense going again people or we may not even make the playoffs. We have King playing top 6 mins which we all know i don't like.

I tend to agree for as maligned as some view the team's defense, the Kings are near the very top in GAA. But the Kings are making the playoffs regardless. Or have you forgotten top 3 in the division make it? The Yotes are not catching anyone.

what ? 2 goals against the flames worse goalie was a good thing?

It's what the Kings do...is this your first year?

Kings have 74 points in 59 games....on pace for a 100+ season. For the Kings to NOT make the playoffs, I'd think they'd need to go like 5-16-2 the rest of the season. Is that what you anticipate happening because we don't have Gaborik? Oh boy...

Curious if you guys would be interested in a Bonino+Cole for Pearson+late pick trade?

They are 14 points into a playoff spot and 16 ahead of the Canucks who are selling. Kings aren't in any danger of missing the playoffs. Are you really comfortable with Mcbain or Gravel as the #6? Idk if I'm even comfortable with Mcnabb as a #6 but I'll happily take that over the current situation. Also Gaborik can still get back and even if he does not, King isn't always going to be in the top 6, Pearson can easily replace him and you can still try others including Kempe.

Yes the Kings will probably have an easier time getting a winger but that's not what the Kings need more, it's just cheaper and more vastly available.

I really want the Kings to trade for Nathan Beaulieu, he was a 1st round pick by the Habs, a great skater and puck mover. He could be a Voynov 2.0 with the proper coaching.

Always liked his game. There's gotta be a way Dean can snag someone from MTL's blueline, they're likely going to be sellers. It doesn't matter if the Dman is a lefty at this point, the Martinez-Muzzin pair showed that 2 lefties can work together (as long as they're good players of course).

Absolutely not. Pearson is superior to both of those pieces and Cole doesn't do anything for our D in addition to being a contract we just cannot take on.

So many mediocre names on that list...

Petry and Gilbert out for the year too.

Bummer about those 2, Beaulieu would be the next one on my list. Markov seems too old and Emelin is just bad.

That list is awful BTW.

Markov's got another year at too much for us as well and Emelin is just drunk McNabb.

I can't imagine them giving up Beaulieu with all their other issues but aside from Petry Beaulieu is all I would be interested in. I think he'll be very good for a very long time.

Those of you that want Justin Schultz, pay close attention to his defensive zone play tonight (if he plays). He's one of the worst d-men in the league in his own zone. Offensively very gifted but in my opinion he's 2 years away from being Marc Andre Bergeron. Want no part of him.

Montreal isn't trading Beaulieu anytime soon. I believe he is hurt as well, not sure on the severity though, looked bad when it did happen versus Nashville

Acquiring him would take a young roster player (Pearson).

We will have to lower our expectations to a Matt Hunwick type.

Per TSN/Bruce Garrioch...

The #Sens have shopped Patrick Wiercioch and there is interest. Extension with Chris Wideman ensures depth. #TradeCentre #ottsports

McGinn is very underrated. Would be solid for the playoffs. Former Ottawa 67er too.

Wouldn't mind Weise or Stempniak either but I think both will cost more than McGinn.

Seems like a RW would be preferable. Although if he could play both wings, that would help. You can never have enough depth at center. Maybe slim pickings on defense, but you also can't have enough depth there either.

A deadline hasn't passed with Lombardi doing nothing.
