We need to keep in mind whoever we get is likely playing with stone hand Lowry so we need to think of fit here. A guy like Boeser is going to be lost with Adam. It's why my money's on JVR who has that cycle and grit component to his game.
Ideally Chevy does enough to have our 4th line as a grinder/checking line.

I am very worried that Chevy will do nothing this year. By doing nothing, he is sending a message to the team and I am worried that Scheifele, PLD and Hellebucyk will all tell Chevy at the end of this year that they will not be resigning after next season. Chevy, knowing that a trade in the summer is worth more than a trade at the deadline (buyers at deadline are the 16 best teams thus the 16th worst draft picks), will trade them off next summer for a number os first round picks (3 or 4). We will then become a bottom level team due to a lack of centers and a top goaltender. We thus have entered a major rebuilding time and will then start to trade off the other good players that we have until we bottom out. Yes, we will have a lot of good draft picks, but they take time to develop. And thus begins a 7 to 8 year rebuild.

I don't think that Stanley gets moved unless he's leveraged as a package for a player or we need the pick he returns for another deal.

I don't think you move him for a pick you keep because it's not logical. You remove depth for the playoffs. If he going for a pick, then I think that happens in the offseason.

Of course, if some horny GM gives us a first or something I think you have to take that now.

I hope Chevy doesnt wait for the last minute to make his move either way. I dont want to see a last second Jordie Benn type trade. I honestly think to his day that was a "look we did something " trade Chevy made.

My hope is Stanley gets moved for a pick that Chevy can use in another deal. The big question does any GM, see much value in him.

I'm guessing that Chevy has been trying to make trades just like everyone else. His job is so much more difficult as players will actively block coming to Winnipeg, management from other teams know this, and that makes deals extremely difficult to complete without huge overpayments. Hopefully a couple decent players come our way as the price drops in the next few hours.

Why are there 2 GDT's?
Couldn't this have been posted in the GDT that already was posted last night?
MODS?
We have a Free Agent/Trade thread already?
because this one is live and easier to keep up with for the day of the trade deadline... majority of the other teams have one too so I really don't see the problem...
