Just a thought regarding a potential Kevin Hayes / Philadelphia deal -- Any chance the 'Canes would have interest in Nick Seeler? There are better defensemen out there for sure, but Seeler is cheap (signed at $775k though next season), left-handed, plays defense first, and brings the physical aspect we desperately need. He's willing to drop the gloves too, with four fights this year.

To me the Flames seem like the best dancing partners for the Hurricanes in terms of what's available and the various connections there.

A Lindholm reunion would IMO be the best thing ever. An Aho-Lindholm-Staal-KK center group would only be around a short time but would also be a complete nightmare for other teams during that time period.

AZ's ask is reportedly too high....question is will they lower before deadline or just hold the player since he has 2 more years to run.

this is where Donnie turtleneck needs to be smart. Pitch Dundon that the Canes can meet AZ's ask price because the team can now leverage multiple dmen in a future trade scenario to get the scoring forward team so desperately needs. we can recoup the equivalent of at least one of the first-round picks needed to acquire Chychrun when Skjei, Pece or Chychrun is traded in the future. Smart asset mgmt. Dundon is reportedly very involved in all trade discussions and has to be convinced a deal is worth doing, i.e, "do we win the trade" approach. I respect this and given Dundon's investment and track record thus far, he's not wrong. Knowing this, Waddell needs to pivot from selling Dundon with our offer is fair/strong at 85% of the ask. wrong approach. that's how you end up the perpetual bridesmaid in these high value player trades.

I mean sure, why not. I'd be ok with either add. Lindholm would be hilarious, would love the entire team to just jokingly stare him down while he does the Storm Surge on his own his first win back in PNC if it happens.
