Rangers have around $6M in cap space as of today. Part of Vanek's contract was retained by Buffalo so they could fit him. Moulson is cheaper. I doubt Gaborik is even a remote consideration.

Gaborik's value is extremely low. Frattin isn't that good.

The Sabres deal is a gamble on Fasching, who could be a legit top 6 player for them in 3-4 years. They also have plenty of picks so 2 2nds might not be much to them, I really like their rebuild. Callahan's gonna have a good team around him in a few years
