So Robidas to Anaheim?

Can Vatanen be had now? Even though Robidas is nearly 40.

Jeez...value seems to be low this year... 4ths and 5ths all over the place.

Could we have used Peener for a 4th?

Wonder what Slats is doing now, all has been quiet on the Callahan front. Nothing reported about Stralman, Boyle, Brassard, none of the contracts that expire...gotta figure they're working on something.

Where is Goon when you need him!

Vanek strikes me as the kind of player to turn a decent team into a good team, not a great team into an even greater team. A guy who help teams struggling for offense, not the final cherry on top for a powerhouse.

Pittsburgh and Anaheim hardly need a poacher to score goals for them.

For Kesler, Vancouver is asking for an established young center, a top forward prospect and a 1st. Penguins say that's fine, but Pouliot is off the table. So something like Sutter, Beau Bennet, and a 1st? Think that's enough?

Trading Sutter+ for Kesler would be silly and short-sighted for the Pens, which is why they'll do it.

Pens have a billion D prospects and not many F outside of Bennett. Maybe they convince VAN to take Depres/Doumolin.

Not going to lie, i enjoy seeing the Pens ship out young talent.

But, Crosby/Malkin/Kesler is pretty scary center depth...

Scary is when they had Jordan Staal at the 3C spot. Kesler, even in a diminished state? ****ing terrifying.

Yea...call me a pesimist, but i don't see how Stepan/Richards/Brassard match up.

If they can get Kesler for Sutter+, they'd be dumb to not do it. Sutter isn't that good at all.

Yep. Sutter is an average #3 C at this point in his career. And his ceiling is really not that much higher. Kesler gives them two above-average #1 Cs and an average #2 C. Yikes.

Trade Callahan, Stralman, + to ANA for Vatanen and Kerdiles.

Let the kids grow.

Stepan/Kerdiles/Miller

That's solid down the middle in a couple of years.

Unfortunately...i don't see Slats with that kind of patience.

[14:48:35] <Lundqvist_Vezina> Bob McKenzie â€Â@TSNBobMcKenzie now
[14:48:37] <Lundqvist_Vezina> I am hearing NYR and Ryan Callahan are inching towards a contract agreement but they're not there...yet. #TSN #Tradecentre

I think Anaheim's GM has mentioned a few times that they're not interested in rentals. I think they're clearing space to go after Kesler.

honestly, it hasn't really bit them in the butt. they always get the better player in those trades.

Iginla for Agostino, Hanowski, 1st (Morgan Klimchuk)
Zbynek Michalek for Cheverie, Ruopp, 3rd (Oskar Sundqvist) wtf?
Ponikarovsky for Caputi, Skoula
Leopold for 2nd (Connor Brickley)
Guerin for random picks
Hossa. Dupuis for Amstrong, Erik "Christ Almighty" Christensen, Esposito, 1st (Daultan Leveille)
Gary Roberts for Noah Welch
Jussi Jokinen for just a conditional pick?
Vokoun for a 7th

and when they traded their "star?"
Staal for Sutter, Pouliot, Dumoulin.
Goligoski for Neal and Niskanen
Ryan Whitney for Kunitz & Tangradi

who have they traded away that really amounted to anything? You can make a case that they blew a bunch of assets in those trades but they did win a Stanley Cup in all of that and they are always contenders so it's not like Sather blowing assets when we don't have nearly as good of a chance.
