100% not trading Rakell for 2 late Dallas 1sts.

The Penguins have 17 top-3 round picks in the next 3 drafts. They need young NHLers or top prospects if they're trading Rakell.
I think they could a minor mix still. If it's Carolina, a 2026 1st + Nadeau/Blake is still a good offer that I would take.

Yeah, we have a gluttony of draft picks but as we saw with Utah, you can easily parlay them into roster players. I don't think next year should be any different than this year so I think there will additional opportunities to do the same thing.

But if you have a gluttony of picks, you can target a team that wants to add a big player or more depth or maybe even for a guy who is getting caught in the log jam such as Nemec or Clarke.

I want to fleece them so bad, not only Stankoven and a 1st, I want another top prospect like Morrow or Nadeau on top of that. Rakell is signed another 3 years at a great cap, pay up bitches!!
They gotta be shell-shocked from talented wingers refusing to sign there lol. I doubt they'd be that dumb to trade all that, but Rakell makes a ton of sense for them.

This feels like Dubas negotiating through the media. Up your offer or you're not getting him.

He’s not getting “overwhelming “ for Rakell…Rak is a really good player on a very good contract but he’s not a star, not elite and not in the top 30 point getters…if he’s really looking to be blown away, then Rak won’t move and a good chance Dubas will blow it lol

I mean I could see one of Dallas' 1st, Morrow/Nadeau and a roster player or LAK 1st, Kuz and Clarke/Greentree

That's what my board looks like. The Leafs must've made an ECHL move or somethin', cuz shit is STRUGGLING.

Nadeau and a 1st is basically the same package as what Nelson brought back, which I think is reasonable for Rakell. Carolina is a cheap organization that doesn't usually pay those kind of assets, but they're going to have to pay to get someone.

Rakell is gonna score close to if not 40 goals this season, he’s gonna get something good in this market.

Really got me sittin' here waiting to see if the team can take advantage of a 32 year old having a career year in a market where GMs are being insane, just for Dubas to say some shit like "It's important that Sid still has his winger, the prices just didn't meet our demand" at the presser later.

Targeting a good value contract in Rakell after getting snubbed on two UFAs seems cautiously reasonable for Carolina.

I just don't think after getting burned twice that they will be willing to give up any of the ponies we would want. Stankoven, Blake, Nadeau, Morrow...their 1sts...it's just not their MO.
