Jesus Christ that return rivals the Gaustad trade.

Gaustead pick got was at 21OA but a high 4th was sent back.

high 4th=late 4th and late 5th
late 3rd+ high 4th gets a high 3rd
high 3rd and late 2nd gets a mid 2nd

a late 1st+ mid 2nd + player get a pick around 21 depending on draft

just gotta have the balls to put the picks on the table

nobody tells stories about brave men and their proud simulators
I don't mind moving a big package of picks / prospects like some here who want to hoard them all. But I think I'd rather just do it in the off-season and not have the deadline force you to panic and bid against other desperate teams. Use the 2nds we have for some deadline additions.

Watch when we are competitive all the available players are dog shit over the hill. Young guys you can add term to are showing available and we do sweet f*** all.

Meier just went for FIVE solid pieces. Tanner Jeannot just went for a 3rd pairing Dman PLUS a 1st PLUS a 2nd PLUS 3 more picks.

You're complaining that we're not in on these prices?

Debatable on the Meier 5 solid pieces. They still keep their top prospects to add to their core for the future.

Jeannot is nutty but I think we could beat that with a decent prospect which gives less picks, no way a 1st tho.

agreed, my overall point is that if the players available hes getting moved and if you want that player then picks shouldn't bother you

good, fast, and cheap but not all 3

you can have your roster builds done good, fast, and cheap just not all 3 at once

*counts on fingers*

Actually, I think we're a piece or two short for one of them.

You’re counting wrong!

Think this shows Buffalo should start drafting more Tanner Jeanot's because trading for them are much more expensive.
i would recommend doing what tampa does and just pay the top dollar for someone elses development time

this one is a little strange though

Yes, NJD kept their top prospects. Thing is, we wouldn't have been able to. While we have a very good prospect system........it's entirely top heavy. There's Savoie, Kulich, Ostlund, Rosen, Levi.............then Johnson.........then it falls off of an absolute cliff. We don't have any of these "middle" pieces that NJD just traded. We don't have the defensemen in our system that NJD just traded away. I don't think we were ever in on Meier for that reason.

So we would have had to pony up our 2023 1st, a conditional 2024 1st/2nd.....and then probably two of Savoie/Kulich/Ostlund/Rosen on top just to beat NJD's offer. No way I do that.

It’s hard to know what value they’d put on picks vs more established prospects. Would two unprotected firsts and this year’s three seconds as a base do it? Idk, but I’d have a hard time paying that without knowing I could re-sign him.

i forgot the entire reason i responded, I would probably overpay today to have lawson crouse right now

solid player at 4.5 through 26/27, ya that would look good on the cap and on the roster i beleieve
