I heard on Sirius he was supposed to be a UFA, but wound up playing enough games and became RFA, I don't know how that came about though.

Tampa's been consistent about publicly sending a message they're in it, however erroneous it looks to us. Their new head coach said it, Steve said he wasn't going to move St. Louis and said it. So they're trying to add though why they'd bring in another unproven young goalie months after paying an pretty penny for Lindbach is beyond me. They would have probably been better off throwing a third for Mason and hoping he could find his form for a few games since he's RFA after this year and doesn't have to stay.

very true. I hope the draft brings the moves NJ needs.

Not only Lotki, but D'ags for draft picks 2 years out.
In adding those 2 players, we added youth, speed and offensive upside.
All areas that needed to be addressed. Just because they were done a week or so out of the deadline doesn't mean that nothing was done.

Today is nothing more than a date on the calendar to a guy like Lou. He pulled the trigger when he found deals that could help the team. Without overpaying.
Sheer underpaying, if anything.

And as has been noted, the return for Tallinder/Volch/whoever will be worth more to a team looking ahead to an entire season, and not 12-15 games. So there's still a lot of hope in that regard.

I kind of agree. Lou had made some solid trades this year, we're probably still lacking a bit in the top 6, but when we're fully healthy the lineup isn't bad.


Erat is a solid player, didn't think he'd be available. Very underrated.
