That's what we said the last three years and yet here we are

No depth and a defense being held by a 65 yr old tanev
Yeah but this feels different. First of all, there hasn’t even been a whimper of rumours that Marner’s camp and Tre are talking contract extension.

So, if they lose in the 1st round again and Marner plays the way he has been for the last 4-5 playoffs, what makes you think they’re going to come to a contract agreement?

I’m glad we have stayed out of this.
Nelson would have been for 1st,3 and Cowan.

1 1 2 for gourde and bjorkstrand? This is nutty.

Now watch us trade a huge package for Schenn.

That's why you offer sheet him. If Dallas can't match, which they would struggle to do if signing Rantanen
Offer sheets get difficult when you don’t have your picks. Unless we reacquire our picks, we can’t go above $6.5 mil.

That price paid for Brock Nelson… yikes. I suppose if they win the cup it’s fine, but otherwise it’s a bad overpay. Great job by Lou though, the sellers are the clear winners in most of these deals.

Rantanen to Dallas and Nelson to Colorado. Looks like we ain’t gonna be picking up anything significant as expected

Overpaying players and having a players cuff you with NMCs and taking you to FA for essentially greed has this effect.

Schenn cuffs us and is costly.
Rantanen without signing makes no sense
L Schenn is slow

So really what does Tre have left? This team isn't demonstrating anything special outside some fantastic tending. Whenever the team is challenged hard they go soft.

It's just a core feature. I don't care what Tre does today. Just wait and see what happens in the POs

"Lots of time still left Shanny. I'll use my Apple Watch to get the trades in."

Brad Treliving is the most timid GM in the league and I look forward to the day he and Shanahan are fired
He's not timid he is smart.

Take a look at what the islanders got for Brock Nelson riduculas.

Rantanen will probably cost us Knies because we would need Carolina would need to retain.
Gourde and Bjorkstand trade 2 1st wow

With these prices Brayden Schenn Armstrong probably wants 1st Cowen and Minten and he is signed for 3 more yrs.

Seth Jones was the only trade that made sense

Mathews is hurt unless he is 100 percent healthy we aren't going any where.

Eh, people thought Sakic paid a pretty penny for Kuemper out of desperation, but it all worked out. He generally has a good vision in his mind with these moves.

With some of the overpayments we've seen - Nelson for Ritchie, 1st, 3rd, / Walman for a 1st, / Dumoulin for a 2nd + prospect....

Hoping we don't buy all that much.

It's just the matter of finding someone who will sell at a reasonable price.

This seems to always happen, that the Paul Gaustad's of the world get a 1st, and then there are a few quality deals in between.
