Schenn would for sure net the Blues all 3 of Cowan and Minten with the 2026 first round pick with the way prices are. No thanks. I was all in on Rantanen but screw these prices. Schenn and Laughton are decent players that in any other year maybe net 2 of those assets not all 3. Imagine the outrage not having Minten, Cowan or our first next year for a 3rd line C like WTF are we doing here

And if said bold.moves fall apart?

I'm not saying Trev should do nothing but making 100 big moves doesn't guarantee anything either. Personally I think this team needs a big shake up involving one of the big three (I don't include JT because quite frankly I don't think we'd get anywhere near his actual value to this team).

Until we do that we keep spinning our wheels.

Plus are we really doing any damage? Matthews is clearly injured, Rielly looks cooked. We got a bunch of AHL scrubs in our D-core. We ain’t doing anything in the playoffs. Tre has more important decisions to make in the summer rather than emptying the cupboards for Schenn

If Dallas gives up Stankoven and Marchment for Rantanen (Stank seems like a lock, I saw Marchment rumored), I could see a Robertson for Bourque deal making sense for both teams.

Why would Schenn net that as a higher price than Nelson? Just due to his term?

He has $100k in cap space (more now with Raves waived), few draft picks, limited prospects and multiple NMC of his stars. I'd be forced to be timid too under such circumstances. In addition to dealing with playoff chokers. I'd prefer to roll the dice with Patches back on the 4th line if healthy than overpaying this year.

Yes, plus St.Louis would retain. Brayden at 3.5 for 3 more years would net the Blues a lot in this market. Plus, Armstrong would strong arm Treliving due to the Blues close to a playoff spot and they don’t have to move him.

Looks like there are several level headed people here who don’t want to overpay for a player. The leafs are not real contenders.

They can have a great summer and make big changes with a huge amount of cap space

Reilly is a huge problem

Matthews is not a winner

Berube has done a good job but there is alot more work to be done.

lol, they gave up a first, their top prospect and another asset for a rental… unless I missed he’s coming with an extension

Maybe they win I don’t have a crystal ball. If they do win no one will care for sure.
 
I think prices are probably coming down. Most playoff teams seem to have done their shopping, a lot less teams contending for someone like Schenn/Laughton out there now.
