If the LD is Hughes.

Carlo, McCabe and Tanev are all Dman who can play first pairing minutes if their partner is Makar, Hughes or Josi or Hedman. As they are all capable of the #2 role.

In a way, I can even see Carlo partners with OEL.

Leafs never have 5 No.2 and No.3 Dmen at the same time.

What I like about both these moves is it addressed needed positions and they’re not rentals. That’s huge for me.
