IF Mrazek gets claimed, we could activate Muzzin off of LTIR, and still have around 3M in cap space if Kase and Sandin require LTIR, with a 21 man roster.

We could do a lot with that 3M. Other wise, it's a bit tighter.

I imagine our moves today will come after 2pm, and I'm sure Dubas/Pridham have plans in either scenario, whether Mrazek is claimed or not.

I don’t think any team will claim Mrazek. Too long of a contract and too many dollars for someone who has performed horribly. It’s better to deal for a cheaper and more reliable goaltender than to risk taking on his anchor of a deal.

If healthy, I think Copp makes sense. Fits exactly what they need. Part of me would love Clutterbuck... dude is a wrecking ball but he's not a good player anymore and Lamoriello is a weird one to deal with.

Not much interest in Domi, Rackell, Garland and Motte after Blackwell being acquired. Pearson is meh. Comtois would be fine but I wouldn't give up much.

This team needs a mean player or two. And Im the one saying this.

I think clutterbuck is like one kase situation away from being done IMO.

Sandin has been battling for a while apparently though so I think thats why there is talk about it.

Varlamov is good, but Kerfoot to Clutterback is a massive downgrade that the Leafs would never consider, and Chara is a #9 here in a healthy lineup.

Retain 50% on Clutterbuck. It's more to upgrade in the net. Varlamov is more likely to have an impact by his addition over the next season than Kerfoot will have by his subtraction.

Clutterbuck can replace Simmonds with more energy. Chara is insurance in case they get nailed by the injury bug, as is the case now with Sandin and Muzzin. He's got experience and knows how to play within his obvious limitations.
