I'll parrot your five years ago comment, directed at Giordano this time. He isn't the same player that won the Norris. I also think you're underrating Forsling there.

I was under the impression Liljgren and Sandin would likely be sitting come playoff time, assuming a fully healthy lineup. Either way though in a playoff series Gudas is more useful than either of them, and he's also better than Lybushkin.

Holl and his boneheaded plays are an equal match for Hagg. If Nutivaara is healthy I'd take him easily over Holl.

I think we'll just have to respectfully agree to disagree here.

Stats still show that gio is very solid defensively. And I don't think gudas is that effective. He's been pretty mediocre for awhile. Sandin definitely slots into the playoff squad. We can disagree for sure but I do think you're being overly negative in this case. I understand your point re: tough TDL and a shitttier forward corps due to the depth, but defensively? Nah we take this.

Theoretically we have the bodies we could simply push the 3rd line down for the 4th, and build 3 scoring lines.

Then you have Knies, Robertson, Tavares, Nylander, Kerfoot, Spezza, Blackwell etc to build out middle 6

I know other people have been talking about this and I know he had a good Olympic run and and excellent freshman year, has there been actual talk from Leafs mgmt about pulling this guy out of his full ride and giving up his 4 year program to sign an ELC of 1 or 2 years?

I don't mind it either way. It's just that Liljegren baby-sitting Rielly has been by far Rielly's best xG numbers.. ever?

He's fine with Lyubushkin too, so I'm not overly worried. Just my preference.

Yeah I hope Liljegren and Rielly could be a thing for a very long time here but who knows. I feel like Keefe will sit him out when everyone is healthy again.

all good but leafs are not playing every one of those teams. The rangers might face Pens so that eliminates one of those teams loading up. Carolina would play the winner and then 2 of those teams are gone.

Boston, Fla, and TB 1 one those teams are gone after the 1st round most likely. So in reality the Leafs need to beat 1 team that is loaded up to start not 6 of them who loaded up
