Not necessarily. If they didn’t have Mrazek and didn’t want Hagel it would be a different discussion. That discussion was about taking on Mrazek and getting fleury and Hagel.

First of all, they traded away Sturm for Jost, who is not physical.

Ok they added Deslauriers, who is not that good of a player. However you are not really talking about a huge net positive in the physicality department there.

MIN is not a bad team though.

it will be between Talbot and Fleury now, kaapo was kind of their goalie of future, and wild are ALWAYS underappreciated like seriously... so he's good. He has work to do for sure.

Especially, given it was only a 2nd if he doesn't get to the conference finals. For the Leafs, that's likely not being upgraded to a 1st by getting to the conference finals.

If any other team had the goaltending situation the Leafs have, we'd be laughing at them wondering what in the world they're doing? There are a few hours to fix it, and I'm sure something will happen. It has to.

I know I’m just thinking if the discussion was just Fleury and no Mrazek in the picture Knies name isn’t involved. No one will ever really know as this is just my opinion.

Honestly the one that might surprise people the most isn't fleury it might be jost...The guy has all the tools in his toolbox...when I saw him in BCHL he was dynamite...i haven't followed as much in the Avs but if he pulls it off...he'll be damn good.

If the Leafs don't plan on making the Conference Finals, then it is a complete waste of a 2nd.

We are not a team making these moves to win one round. We are making these moves to win a Cup.

Dubas said he would not move a 1st for a rental. He might as well have done that if he made this move.

And that is an overpayment for Fleury. MIN is just really desperate because this is their all-in year, and you have to think that maybe they look at a guy like JT Miller or someone who can play 2C for them instead of Frederick Gaudreau too.
