Yup.
I was just responding to your “this is how players change CHL leagues” “Clear waivers and sign as a free agent” comment.
I’m just pointing out that players who clear waivers here then go on waivers in the other leagues.
Not sure. No idea really.Ah. Understood. Yes. They still need to clear waivers in other leagues.
Do you know if they have to request to join the league or do players automatically go on waivers with the two other leagues?
what if itold you north bay is getting allardRemember guys Jeff was wrong! Beck was a greyhound!!!
Lmao!!![]()
Didn’t he also say Geekie to Saskatoon a few days ago? Meanwhile he was traded to Swift Current today.Remember guys Jeff was wrong! Beck was a greyhound!!!

Yeah, my mistake. I just went back and realized he said Minten to Saskatoon. I had seen the tweet about Geekie and Savoie from a day or two ago, but clearly got Geekie’s rumoured destination mixed up.No he said geekie to swift current all along
Oh I know!In fairness, he stated SSM was a frontrunner. I know you are tongue in cheek but not everyone will read it like that.

Agent/Vancouver pulled some strings for bloom to land in sag
Still waiting for Shane Wirght to go to London from last yearDidn’t he also say Geekie to Saskatoon a few days ago? Meanwhile he was traded to Swift Current today.

It’s all about getting listeners to his podcast. More listeners = more $$.I don’t understand the obsession that media shills have with “breaking” news about trades.
Within two minutes of “breaking” information, it’s everywhere online and common knowledge for all.
So a two minute man like Joke Marek is correct with his conjecture on occasion, but more often than not he ends up being laughably incorrect.
How about focusing more on providing quality insight and analysis instead of these asinine proclamations that turn out to be completely wrong.
Doesn't he work for Sportsnet too? Sportsnet was quick to post an article about the potential Beck trade also....could be a Rogers ploy...It’s all about getting listeners to his podcast. More listeners = more $$.
Period.

What I was more getting to in my post was in reference to the prior posters comment about listener/followers=money. Sportsnet made an article out of it so whether the comments are backed up by fact or not, Sportsnet is driving home advertising revenue by directing people to their siteThere is a difference between speculation based on current inside talk throughout the league and reporting something as fact.
For some reason a handful of people think that when an “insider” says, “It is starting to look like Team X has the inside track on Player B,” it means that is where the player is going. It does not mean that. It means that as of right now, current indicators suggest the player is likely going to end up in that location. It doesn’t mean it won’t change. It is not like the guys said, “Player A is going to location B. Details to follow.” If the guys says that and it ends up not being true, (Ohtani and the Blue Jays tweet by John Morosi as an example), then and only then should we point fingers.
So, if Beck ends up not being traded to Saginaw, I think it is fair to criticize Marek. Until then, it really shouldn’t be an issue.

The problem is that we have maybe 10+ teams who are on the fence about what they're doing this year so it's creating this vacuum of 'nothingness' on the trade market other than the OS/Peterborough trade which was completely out of left field...Honestly this deadline seems odd.
With all due respect where did Jeff find this?Bloom would have already cleared waivers in the OHL When he was released in November. He is not re-entering the league. He’s technically out there waiting to be signed….
I suppose theoretically it is possible thoughWith all due respect where did Jeff find this?

He’s been wrong on things before, but Marek is one of the few main stream media guys to actually give the CHL the time of day in his work. I miss when Sportsnet had the CHL rights.People loved Jeff when he said SSM was the front runners, then flipped on him when he said Saginaw is most likely gonna land him. Bias is crazy
If they're bringing on Bloom, they'd have to release the rights to Del Bell Belluz. So they conditionals wouldn't be tied up anymore in theory. idk?Hold up on Beck deal could be those picks tied up in the conditions for Luce Del Bel Belluz. If the Saginaw stuff is true. You’d imagine they’re sending a ton of picks to convince Oke that Young was the best choice lol ( speculation, I don’t know what picks are tied up in it but you’d think it wasn’t just one or two late picks going to Sarnia ). With no confirmation of if he’s coming back or not, we can assume that those picks would be held up till 12 on the 9th? Please correct me if I’m wrong!
Honestly this deadline seems odd. The greyhound info was for sure a leak from another team, Marek has only talked about Saginaw so far this deadline.
Who’s working for who? Hehe![]()
You’re right. I wish he would give CHL more time of day and be more involved in general with ranking players for future drafts and bringing more exposure to the next stars of the NHLWho knows? What I find interesting is Jeff Marek is an influential person in Junior hockey for about 10 days per year at the deadline. So, I don’t understand how he plays a role in information dissemination across the CHL. Does he do more CHL work than I am aware of?
