With good scouts I'll take the earlier 1st than the later 1st and the 3rd.

But Marc Bergevin would certainly disagree with that philosophy.
I wouldn’t want them to do well if they were around pick 18-20. But the Jets are already a good team so I find it useless to worry about whether we have pick 25 or 28.

MB liked 5th and 7th round picks, Not sure why those two and not 6th round picks but hey who am i to understand the intricacies of NHL management?

Not surprising only proper trade candidate is Pearson and he is worthless
Yeah I'm not sure what else people could realistically expect when we have players with term. Last year was quiet too. If Allen somehow gets moved Id be happy. Only thing i expect today is that we'll use that last retention slot in some way.

Or 29th to 31st...

BUT, I really like what our scouts have done in the late 2nd to 4th round. So I'm definitely all for adding late 2nds, 3rds and 4ths to this scouting team. The more darts in that area the better.

2022: Hutson, Engstrom
2024: Fowler, Bogdan

I understand Hughes not doing anything, but I'm really not sure what the plan for the offseason is at this point. Why would Allen be traded in the summer when teams can sign a better or equivalent backup for half the cap hit? The only prospects besides worth anything considerable are Reinbacher/Hutson/Roy/Mailloux who won't be traded since it defeats the purpose of a rebuild. So we are left with replacing Monahan with Dach who is unlikely to even be healthy for the majority of the season, and Dvorak with White who hasn't played a full season since the COVID year with the Yotes.

So next year will be another bottom-10 finish unless we win Celebrini this year, but we get to be free of Armia/Dvorak/Allen. Of course I'm expecting changes to occur in the offseason, but I'm just not sure what. Adding a top 6 player that is 30 seems unwise and we don't have the prospects (besides the 4 I mentioned above) to get someone very young and an established top 6 forward.

Plus honestly I don’t think we are keeping the Jets pick anyways.
