Teravainen is the player that Pierre Mcguire always was saying is going to be a star .....former 18th overall pick so far a bust.

I'd happily take TT. He would be a huge addition for secondary scoring.

I'm fine with trading Gallagher. I like him but we just have too many midgets. The midget club has to end. DD was the first step.

What is left: Ghetto-Hudon-Lekhonen-Byron-Gallagher-Plekanec: I think Hudon is the most valuable player out of the 6 after Gallagher's hand injuries. Byron is good, he's at the top of his game, not sure how he can last without playmaking skills (after a hot start this season, he's going down). Like Plekanec he will loose a step and then decline very fast. I also think Ghetto could get another lease on life if he's not part of a trade today.

My point: these 6 players have to be trimmed to 3, top. Patience has limits, recurring problems (10 years!) have to be dealt with.

Hudon, Lekhonen: untouchables
Gallagher-Byron-Plekanec: trade if possible
Ghetto: conclude a trade or keep him, he might have a few Byron seasons (20-20) ahead of him.

We are not scoring because we are always physically dominated after Max, Radu, Chucky who are not small players. Then there's a huge gap of talent, this is where I still don't understand the Eller trade. Plekanec had to go, not Eller. It was painfully obvious. Eller would be very useful right now.

Matter of principle.

Plekanec + Gallagher for Filppula + Killorn ?

Just throwing names... but cap wise, almost identical...

One group are fans and supporters speculating and knowing it's speculation, the other is a professional paid handsomely to manage this team.

There is no irony here. You should lower your expectations of the fans and maybe raise your expectations of the GM.

Folks call him bargain bin in a tongue in cheek way because he's obsessed with depth and grinders. Because he espouses tons about character and then acquires Shaw, Ott, Weber, and Radulov within 8 months of each other! It's just funny and idiosyncratic. I for one don't mean any massive insult against the guy, I don't know him. I don't like his management and think he's done a poor job - I hope for the best though and with CJ here I have faith.

We should all have faith and not turn on each other :)

Curious ; how many years have you been supporting the team? You reckon he's done a worst job than the last 4 GMs, Gauthier, Gainey, Savard and Houle? I think he's done a better job than most of them, doubting only Savard because of some of the trades he made.

I always had high expectations for this team though I can stay realistic. Feels like some posters only breathe Canadiens without seeing the big picture, what happens elsewhere. It's never been harder to trade. Of course, if you are expecting Bergevin to get a superstar without givng anything you'll end up calling him a moron for the rest of the day. But who really is the moron?

Just a suggestion, but mods should really start cracking down on these kinds of posts. Gratuitous insults even if not directed at posters just poison the quality of this board.

Doesn't bother me. Whats the difference between calling him a Moron straight up and saying something like "This guy has no idea what he's doing and is ruining the team". They both mean the same thing really.

I was about to post the same thing. I'm not even that old and the use of "lit" makes me cringe...especially on a hockey board

Please expound on why "lit" doesn't belong on a hockey board? I'm eager to to hear your explanation.
