There's a strong irony in everyone calling Bergevin ''Bargain Bin'' and seeing so many posters with ridiculous proposals including our trash for bonafide players. Also calling Bergevin a moron over the net gives us a good idea about your age.

That's because 50% of the team he built are just the trash players he acquired from the BargainBin.

One group are fans and supporters speculating and knowing it's speculation, the other is a professional paid handsomely to manage this team.

There is no irony here. You should lower your expectations of the fans and maybe raise your expectations of the GM.

Folks call him bargain bin in a tongue in cheek way because he's obsessed with depth and grinders. Because he espouses tons about character and then acquires Shaw, Ott, Weber, and Radulov within 8 months of each other! It's just funny and idiosyncratic. I for one don't mean any massive insult against the guy, I don't know him. I don't like his management and think he's done a poor job - I hope for the best though and with CJ here I have faith.

We should all have faith and not turn on each other :)

Maybe one day we should find out who started that "Bargain Bin" moniker and reprimand him....:sarcasm:

It'd certainly be better than nothing.

It wouldn't surprise me terribly if Bergevin was just as interested in him as Duchene.

Landy I think actually fits the team better. He's a character big scoring LW. Very much a Bergevin player. I also think not having the pressure of being a Captain will help him as he was given that role way too early.

TSN's incessant and ill conceived attempts to make their TD broadcast a comedy show is pathetic.

That clever so-and-so, That silky wordsmith, how does he get way with it!

Bustchenyuk really blew up in my face even though I didn't ever even imply that he's a bust. I'm never gonna live that down.

The moron has had 5 years to address size and all of a sudden it's a priority?

Just a suggestion, but mods should really start cracking down on these kinds of posts. Gratuitous insults even if not directed at posters just poison the quality of this board.

Palat makes too much sense to get for the Habs. He's a good 2 way LW who can make up for Chucky's defensive mistakes. That said he probably won't be cheap to get either. Maybe TB is looking at a defenseman?

Tampa is looking to get picks and prospect. They already have a huge problems.....they won't be able to protect: Stamkos, Drouin, Kucherov ,Palat, Killorn, Johnson, Namestknikov and Callahan/Filpulla (they have NMC). They won't be able to protect Hedman, Garrisson, Stralman and Coburn either.

I don't get the Vrbata love. RW who's hardly the goal scorer we need. More of a 3rd liner at this point.

I'd much rather go for Palat. Reminds me of Plex 3 years ago. Good LW, 200 ft. player who can chip in offense and add some defensive responsibility to a line with Chucky and has playoff experience. Much better option than Vrbata IMO.
