I would be so dissapointed in vrbata...

I wouldn't be disappointed. But I would be a little underwhelmed if he's the big deal of the day. If he comes here and there is a bigger deal later today, I'm all for Vrbata. Well, I shouldn't say I'm all for him if there is only a bigger deal later. I still like getting him regardless.

Do you have that stat for the period since Julien was hired? Interested to see if it's changed at all, although I do know it's a (much) smaller sample size.

No numbers, but from recollection it reversed a decline that was occuring under Therrien. More effective exits and entries is the biggest change. That, and a PK going from putrid to effective.

Good point, but are we looking for more shut down, bottom 6 guys right now? Who are 40 years old and UFA at the end of the year? Why give something up for that? Doan is OK, but it would be a lateral move at best. Plus, for the role he would be used in, as a shut down guy, I think Plekanec is the smarter player, faster too.

I'm saying make a package for Doan and Vrbata for Plekanec + minor pieces?

Apparently Sean Couturier was pulled off the ice from Flyers practice. Big and a centre which are probably two things Bergevin is interested in.
Would be awsome, huge upgrade over Pleky. A good match-up center with size and still young.

Vrbata alone will not address the hole down the middle. There's no chance in hell the Habs can go anywhere the way we're built at centre
If he can't upgrade there then don't bother wasting picks on a guy who won't make a lick of a difference

Sorry, I do not. I know that the Bruins were #1 in possession this year under Julien though.

I agree. Paying for a rental like Vrbata (depending the price) is nothing substantial unless some bigger needs are addressed.
