However trades will still come out after the deadline as long as the trade calls are in progress.

Often there are quite a few trades that roll in after the deadline. I doubt the Flames are involved, but it's not for sure yet.

Correct. Trades just have to be called/faxed into the NHL head office by the deadline. Sometimes we just don't hear about them until after.

That said, normally the trades come in after the deadline because of a backup at the league office. Judging by the complete dearth of deals in the last half-hour, that seems unlikely.

Unless everyone sealed deals in the last minute or something.
