-Flames called them about Baertschi
-Feel he'll be a top six player one day
-Based on what they feel they'd get in the second round, they thought Baertschi was a better bet
-Called him fast and skilled
-Don't know what happened to his development in Calgary but they're happy to have him

Context on Sven, time here is well documented. Recent months Sven's agent requested trade. Looking for opportunity elsewhere.
Progression of other young players allowed them to make the trade, passed Sven on the depth chart.
No intention of re-signing with Calgary, desires were not to return, that was made clear in the past few weeks.
Looked for fit and value, deal they got was the best out there.
Picks may be used to acquire other players.
Gio update: not good news. He will be undergoing surgery for torn bicep, complete tendon tear. Surgery is this week.
