Watching Sportsnet and apparently Matt Carkner's name is trending among other rumored players. Be hilarious if we get anything for Carkner.

would be pretty sweet if we could dish him and johnson for a good backup...though idk why any team would ever take on carkner at this point

Why can't we just get Strait out of relevant role on this team? You can't convince me that if you had an open competition for that spot that one of Pulock, Reinhart or Donovan wouldn't run away with it.

I agree. I think Pulock should be playing in place of Strait. I thought he had a better camp than Reinhart and deserved a look at this level.

Just came back from injury let him get back into game shape first.

The over reactions are kinda rediculous. Reading this thread, you would think the Islanders were a bubble team, not challenging for the President's Trophy.

TSN Coverage

I woke up thinking I would be able to watch TSN Tradecentre coverage on NHL Network and instead they decide to put on the very much lesser Sportsnet coverage. Boo.

I live in the US so how can I watch TSN Trade Deadline coverage today?

Thank you.

Just to be clear, I think Garth will be thinking long and hard about this because you have to consider the possibility that Boychuk leaves. I expected this to be a possibility in June, when we'd know whether or not Johnny is staying, but if Detroit is making a push NOW... I don't know.

My guess on what we would offer: 2016 first rounder, Reinhart, a roster forward (Grabner/Bailey?), maybe an additional mid level prospect.

Rumor floating around the twitterverse saying the Isles may be interested in Parenteau !

I tend to think it would be Reinhart, Grabner and one of the depth defensemen. But it might cost less if Toronto doesn't retain salary. They're already retaining for Detroit and Mantha isn't involved.

I assume this is just dot connecting, but I'd take Parenteau back gladly. If we eat the whole contract he probably won't cost any real asset. And his contract will expire by the time Okposo/Nielsen/other RFAs will be due for big raises.

I'm not sure Donovan would. Reinhart didn't impress me when he was up here earlier this year.

If Toronto can't get Mantha or another top prospect (Tatar?), they should just hold. This is really goofy.

Could Philly step in? This seems like a perfect Philly move.

Blues just got Michalek from Arizona, according to Pierre LeBrun and Elliotte Friedman

I was wondering why he hadn't been moved yet, wasn't sure if it was the injury that scared teams away.

Prospect and a pick---depending on the level of each that one stings a little bit was hoping we could snatch him up because all the other teams had made their move.

Too bad the market wasn't like this last year...can't even imagine what Snow would have gotten for Vanek. That Coburn trade is just...holy overpayment
