I have zero interest in Gudas (f*** that clown), but it's hilarious that most of you on this board think Chayka is some narrow-minded dude.

Just because he became our GM...doesn't suddenly mean the Leafs will only be targeting young, soft, speedy players who can move the puck.

You still need a good combination of Skill, Speed, puck movement, and SIZE/GRIT. Chayka admitted himself in one of early press interviews that he sees the value in the Gritty/defensive minded players who cna provide leadership.

It may not be Gudas, but depending on how our defense shapes up, we will be in the market for a Gudas-type player if necessary.

0% chance gudas signs in Toronto. Sharks will probably sign him as a UFA.

Considering he's one of the players I despise in the league...he's going to one of our Rival teams (Bruins, Habs, Sens, Panthers, Lightning). It's so obvious.

All the players I grew up hating ended up playing on one of those teams

I also foresee AJ Greer going to Montreal, if he ends up leaving Montreal. Another dude I hate

Something like Carlo for Ducks 2nd '27 + Colangelo is probably more likely.

Just don't understand them trading McTavish where Carlo's the main peice in return, feels very underwhelming. They'd probably favour a futures deal like their '27 2nd + Colangelo, and dangle McTavish+ for a bigger fish. McTavish + Zellweger would've been nice, but with Andrae now Zellweger becomes redundant.

I could see them wanting Carlo because he's cheap. Anaheim will spend way below the cap ceiling, and they have to give big contracts to Carlsson and Gauthier. Carlo would be a good option for them.

I think they might get cold feet on a pending UFA like Carlo after spending big on Carlson and to a lesser extent Trouba just to see them walk at first opportunity.

They have to do something though, they cant walk into the season with Luneau and Helleson as their top-4 RD no matter how good Lacombe is.
