Not too likely.Nylander, Engvall, Holl, Campbell rights
For
Number 2 overall, Severson, Blackwood
?
Take cap space and sign Kane or Nichuskin
Nichuskin Matthews Marner
Slavosofsky (sp) Tavares Bunting
While I like the idea of trading Nylander as part of a package to get the #2 pick, there's zero chance I'm taking Slavosofsky ahead of Cooley. I think eventually Cooley will become the best player in this draft, even ahead of Wright. Not to mention, he's a center, which we're desperately lacking in the prospect pool.Nylander, Engvall, Holl, Campbell rights

Except his comment after winning shows he hasn't actually matured at all..Here's a bold prediction / crazy idea / Conspiracy...
Kadri was traded when and how he did as a way for good guy dubas to get kadri the cup (and to make it seem like he was being punished) handshake deal to bring him back as he matures and brings the cup to Toronto :-P
Obviously not true at all but would be a crazy fun mind f*** if he came back lol

He's a bit of a unicorn though, not a lot of guys play like him in the league.
He's not playing over the 4 we have, and even if you trade one of them, he'd be the 4th best LHD we have.
I don't see the fit.
Really, I take his comments as him proving his doubters wrong. It shows he got fire in him. Much better than him being political and thanks people who treated him like crapExcept his comment after winning shows he hasn't actually matured at all..
Trading for the 2nd overall pick has zero effect on us competing now, if anything, it allows us to continue having a solid team for years to come. Example,We aren’t trading for 2nd overall when our window is now whether or not some people like that or not.
Production very similar to Sandin except he's significantly meaner.
It's a conversation but would involve a lot of work.
I could see Boston, NYI, Florida and Wings in the East all being more interested.
They don't need another young D to rot in the stands. I think they will trade Sandin but that still leaves 3 lefties and I don't believe any of those vets have shown the ability to play as well on the right side. Would they try him on the right as a Holl replacement?Teams interested in Hague are reportedly from the East.
Really hoping the Leafs are in. Wanted to trade down for Hague in his draft year. He hasn't scratched the surface of his potential yet.
Checks a lot of boxes for this team, with the right development. He plays a mean game but has untapped goal scoring potential from the blueline, truly an incredible point shot in junior.
That could work but I don't think management is looking that far ahead. Willie needs to return a quality vet who is cheaper than him and can produce from game one. Willie out and Kerf out gives them room for Nichushkin plus a legit #3c.Trading for the 2nd overall pick has zero effect on us competing now, if anything, it allows us to continue having a solid team for years to come. Example,
Trade Nylander for 2nd Overall (Cooley)
Sign one of Forsberg/Burakovsky/Nichuskin to replace Nylander on the 2nd line.
In 3 years when Tavares contract is over, you have Cooley to replace him at a fraction of the cost.
I still telling its time to be agressive on gibson
@LEAFANFORLIFE23If I’m the Leafs I tell Winnipeg to go eat some yellow snow…

One player I think we should target who I believe would make a great partner for Rielly is Dylan Demelo. He's locked in for another 2 years at 3 million.
To Toronto-
Dylan Demelo
To Winnipeg-
Justin Holl
3rd Round Pick
I do that swap. Hague long-term beside one of Liljegren/Niemela is veryyy nice.Likely Sandin is in there if you're including Roy...Sandin figures to come in for 900-1M which helps Vegas kick the can down the road a bit on cap and get a good long term player.
I don't know if Sandin just becomes a really good defenseman that Hague won't be. Hague has a bomb of a shot...likely a 2nd pairing defenseman moving forward and brings ingredients Muzzin does.

Why not? Cheap, effective and probably due for promotions, especially Anderson in a depth role. He won't clear waivers again I don't think. Steeves impressed in his short stint and Robertson has a ton of potential.
Signing veterans is fine but most of them are Clifford and Simmonds quality if you go near league minimum unless you get really lucky.
ZAR, Acciari and Vatrano are good but won't come dirt cheap either. You can't just sign a bunch of bloated bottom players. You need cheap young players as well. Dubas has been good at finding good bottom line players for the money though, so I'm sure there will be some names brought in to compete.
To you or everybody whonstill think gibson sucks...shocking
