Would rather invest in Larsen on an AHL contract TBH. Roll back the clock on Rubins by 5 years and get someone with higher upside.

Rubins doesn't have much NHL upside, and struggled far too often for a mid-20's player on the Marlies. I thought one more year where he could be a solid rotation option could be worth it, but I didn't see him lasting more than one more year with this organization, and there are a ton of better options out there on the market.

Some team may bring him in for AHL depth though, and good luck to him for that.
