All good targets. I think Laughton fits pretty much what we need more of on paper. He's signed long-term though at 3M per, which isn't good at all for a 30 point producer. Not sure the Flyers would want to punt him out so soon either.

Yeah, Laughton did just re-sign, but I think that Philly does a big retooling of their roster.

I don't mind if he only puts up 30 points though. I'm thinking beyond the point total for what the roster needs. I think of Anthony Cirelli with Tampa. Why is he perfect for that role and does it really matter how many points he puts up in a season? Cirelli takes the tough matchups and is that consistent player that will kill penalties for you. I think that Laughton can do something similar. Just not as many points.

It'll be tough because I would want to put him with Kampf and Kampf is gonna want $3M since Laughton has it.

I forgot he was still playing, tbh
He had a good year, fits on LW and is pretty fiesty, but not sure a die hard Habs fan is coming here when the Habs will have space. It could also be his last deal, so I don't see where we'd get the space.

He'd be an interesting guy to put with Tavares, both can work downlow and in tight space.

He's a right shot so if 88 goes, he can play RW.

If you want to make meaningful changes to the middle of your forward group and you can get Giordano on a sweetheart deal, not entertaining a Muzzin trade in some capacity seems like a borderline mistake. Gio is still a Top 4 guy. His birth certificate says he's older than Muzzin, but physically I wouldn't say so. Sandin should not be blocked for another year.

Muzzin's NMC is obviously an issue, but you simply don't make it insulting. Provide him with attractive opportunities and maybe he bites. He had a great Playoff, but the regular season wasn't inspiring at all from a health or ability perspective. It's in his hands in the end, but this should be entertained IF Gio stays cheap

Deslauriers had 13 hits in 5 GP in playoffs, 9 goals in regular season...263 hits in regular season...that's an element I don't mind.
Piling up hits just means when that players on the ice the other team has the puck a lot

Holl & Muzz replaced by Lilly and sandin with gio & boosh(both around 1.5 or so) extended creates a good mix on the blue line and is cheap enough that if it needs an upgrade you can make it happen.

supposedly Elliotte Freidman has said that The Leafs have David Perron as a target this off season can anybody confirm this?
He’s a guy who seems to have success follow him and while not the hitz & gritz type we all seem to be horny for he brings an edge and experience in how to win while still being an effective player

We possessed the puck a lot, it's nice and all but if the 4th line can physically wear down another team for us, I will take it. Simmonds didn't even do that for us this season. Spezza not really a factor etc. I'll take *something* over nothing.

Oh I'd be all for it.

If you can replace Mikyehev with Perron that woouldn't be enough but it would be a hell of a start.

I know Perron will cost more then Mikyehev is making I'm not suggesting you are getting him for 1.6 you are not.

I'm simply suggesting that would be an upgrade

Oh 100% not coming in for 1.6 probably 3.6, but depending on how much they want to change the middle of the cap structure they can find room, for example sign Perron for 3.5-4 trade kerfoot and sign a mik replacement for the leftover change, now you have Perron and xx instead of mik & kerf

I think he would...maybe Matt Roy? They have a lot of RD and need LD.
Sean walker?

Would Muzzin go back to LA? What could we get from them?
I have a buddy in LA who’s a massive kings fan, he thinks they’re going hard after chychrun in trade & forsberg in FA, not sure if there’s cap for all them but I can see if they miss out on chychrun turning to Muzz in a soft deal. Anaheim might be interested as well and is in the same region I’m sure it wouldn’t be a problem getting Jake to waive for

Sean Walker? I'd prefer Matt Roy personally.

all for it, as long as you find a way to upgrade your goaltending

but I will say this a top 6 next year of

Bunting Matthews Marner

Perron Tavares Nylander

would be a great start.

I wish there was a way to add both Perron and Rust

because then one of them goes to the 3rd line and that would be incredible depth but I don't see how you do that

Palat-JT-Rust or Palat-JT-Perron would be a real nice 2nd line.

88 and JT have zero chemistry. All 3 of Palat, Perron and Rust are cup winners.

Depending like I said, any or all of Campbell mrazek Holl muzzin kerfoot engvall mikheyev Kase could all be gone creating over 21m to fill those holes, Lilly and sandin fill in for Holl & Muzz with boosh and gio extended for cheap leaves them with 16m to fill the forwards and goaltending, completely doable

He's a natural LWer from what I recall, but can play right being a righty.

Dual threat, looks like they have him on his strong side;

Engvall for Greenway?
Roberson + Pick for Bertuzzi?

Add a couple of 4th-line Speedy Agitation guys like Lazar/Aston-Reese/Katchouk.....and suddenly the makeup of our team looks a lot more different.
I researched greenway. Like him but Minnesota wouldn't trade him after just giving him 3 years extension to Keep their grief line together. Their gm like players like greenway and choose him over fiala
