Surprised Chara wanted to sign elsewhere for such a small amount... was Boston just ready to move on?

Their leadership and blue line without him and Krug takes a big hit

I suspect he sees this potentially as his last chance for a cup. Bruins are sort of treading water at the moment, even Marchand when they were eliminated from the last playoffs called it an end of an era.

But who knows, maybe he was getting sick of the coaches or management ect

With Pasta and Marchard injured, in a short season, they have an uphill climb in a tough division to play the playoffs. Definitely seems like this could be a tipping point year for them on the regression scale.

As mentioned they're going to be relying on a 35 year old Bergeron and 34 year old Krejci to anchor their team. DeBrusk will have to step up. They could really struggle to score goals.

Bergeron has had recurring groin issues too. It could be a tough season for them.

Hate to be the "who says no" guy, but trying to settle a bet.

Maybe revisit Murphy if chi is looking for c depth now

Something like Kerfoof and Holl for Murphy +

Suddenly, with Toews mysterious illness, sounding like he's going to be a out a long time, they might be looking for a C after all... Dach out 3-5 months... their lineup is a mess now. Not that it's a trade that makes sense for us though.

Or Bowman got what he wanted and he gets to tank without taking any blame for it.

Short season, no fans in attendance anyway. If you're going to tank, this is the year to do it.

Kane with his NMC? All kidding aside, other than the Leafs gaining some on the cap and losing a season on the contract...Go Leafs Go! Chicago likely doesn't decline if they are serious about rebuilding. It probably wouldn't be Toronto turning this down either.

Kane (@ 50%) + Murphy + one of Soderberg/Kampf/Wallmark for Nylander + Kerfoot + Holl + 1st 2021. It fits cap wise.... Hate to give up Nylander and all his future upside, but I think it makes us better now, and harder to play against.

Dubois looking to leave Columbus. I wish

I highly doubt Columbus has any interest in moving him unless Dubois flat out says he is not going to sign. I don't think he'd do them like that.

He'll probably sign, it may just have to be a bridge or something.
