I'm not super high on Larkin in general. However, I think if you can get him without giving up Wallstedt and more than 4 1sts in value, then you go for it. If our window is minimum the next 3 years, most likely neither Yurov or Stramel are going to be better than him in that time frame. And ideally you don't give up both of them in the deal.
If we use up most of our remaining significant trade chips to get Larkin, we just have to hope more players leverage their NMCs to come to the Wild. If we trade for Larkin and sign Kane, who says Debrincat doesn't force his way to play with his buddies on a cup contender? Isn't Werenski best friends with Larkin? Maybe he wants to play with him in MN. Matthews? It seems like adding Quinn has made the Wild a more desirable spot. I think acquiring Larkin further increases that appeal for some of the big name upcoming UFAs.
Also my gut feeling is that he'd be better here than he's shown recently in Detroit. Vibes seem terrible around that team and he always has sad puppy dog eyes in his interviews there. Hopefully he's reenergized if we trade for him.
