Trade and Free Agency - 2025-26

  • If you are having issues logging in, we have found opening the log in page in a new tab/window rather than using the pop out should resolve these issues. We are working to get this resolved and thank you for patience.
  • Due to the increased volume of league transactions, the Trade Rumors and Free Agent Talk section is temporarily restricted to where threads may only be started by moderators and sponsors. We anticipate that this restriction will be lifted some time after the first round of the draft.
I'm not super high on Larkin in general. However, I think if you can get him without giving up Wallstedt and more than 4 1sts in value, then you go for it. If our window is minimum the next 3 years, most likely neither Yurov or Stramel are going to be better than him in that time frame. And ideally you don't give up both of them in the deal.

If we use up most of our remaining significant trade chips to get Larkin, we just have to hope more players leverage their NMCs to come to the Wild. If we trade for Larkin and sign Kane, who says Debrincat doesn't force his way to play with his buddies on a cup contender? Isn't Werenski best friends with Larkin? Maybe he wants to play with him in MN. Matthews? It seems like adding Quinn has made the Wild a more desirable spot. I think acquiring Larkin further increases that appeal for some of the big name upcoming UFAs.

Also my gut feeling is that he'd be better here than he's shown recently in Detroit. Vibes seem terrible around that team and he always has sad puppy dog eyes in his interviews there. Hopefully he's reenergized if we trade for him.

Ugh. Isn't Hertl pretty much done?

Idk he’s the same age as Trochek, had a big goal drought this year but still managed about 60pt and I thought he turned it on during the playoffs. He’s solid on the dot, big body puck possession game, good on a cycle. Good net front. He’s different than Trochek and Larkin. Gotta be the cheapest to acquire of the 3 too. I’d chalk up the goal drought this year as a cold spell, hard to call a 32 year old ‘washed’

I can see his style of play being attractive to Guerin. Not my first choice for the Wild but I wouldn’t hate it if we didn’t have to sell the farm for him.

I do remember seeing somewhere that he was playing more wing in the playoffs though unless I’m misremembering

Not a Kypreos fan but it’s a blurb…

Why would we do Vegas a favor like that? He has a 3 team trade list. He doesn't really play center anymore. The knee injuries have taken a toll on his mobility. I love Hertl but if he was good enough to be our 1C Vegas wouldn't be trading him. Even if we strike out on every C on the market, if we acquired him we'd be stuck with the next 4 years of the contract with that 3 team trade list. I vote no

Kyrou is a really great player that was stifled in an offensive black hole of a team. Hes was meant to bust out where he went but I’m not seeing it in Washington
