Trade and Free Agency - 2025-26

  • If you are having issues logging in, we have found opening the log in page in a new tab/window rather than using the pop out should resolve these issues. We are working to get this resolved and thank you for patience.
  • Due to the increased volume of league transactions, the Trade Rumors and Free Agent Talk section is temporarily restricted to where threads may only be started by moderators and sponsors. We anticipate that this restriction will be lifted some time after the first round of the draft.
Glad to hear it. Was a good player, but he looks kinda done.

I would rather that BG does nothing, it there isn't a good trade out there. He definitely overpaid for jiricek, and, it could be argued, for Hughes. He can't keep doing that.

I would like to see what we can get out our young players, though I'm not sure that Hynes is the guy to make that happen. Yurov, Haight, Brink, and Hunt will surely start the season with the team, but I am hoping that Stramel and possibly Spacek will get some TOI also.
I think Stramel will be in the NHL and Haight will be the one fighting for a spot but otherwise agree with this.

I liked Haight in his brief time up with us. His speed was noticeable, and he seems to play smart. Not especially strong, but we've got that angle covered in our bottom six. We need speed to stretch the ice for us when we have the puck, and it's always handy to get in on the forecheck quickly.

Haight also looked vg down in Iowa.

Stramel is an unknown commodity. I liked him at MSU, but the jump from college to the pros is a big one, let alone the NHL. WE could use a big C, but more than anything we need a top 6 . McCarron is signed forever as a 4C, and we still have Sturm, Hartman, Yurov, and Haight, none of whom profile as top 6 C's. If Iowa wasn't such a shitshow, I would say that it's better to keep Stramel down there getting top usage. If Boldy and Rossi can spend time down in the AHL, then Stramel certainly can.

Kirill taking 3 to 4 Million more than he’s worth was always going to hurt, but it really hurts.
What's more, it sets a standard for the Hiughes contract. I mean, he will be considered to have taken a "home town discount' if he signs for "only" 14M. BG, Liepold, and KK/agent have screwed us for years to come.
