Only since Detroit is so important:

4/22/13 7:30 PM ET Phoenix (Monday)
4/24/13 7:30 PM ET Los Angeles (Wednesday)
4/25/13 7:30 PM ET Nashville (Thursday)
4/27/13 7:00 PM ET @ Dallas (Saturday)

End of regular season....

Conspiracy theory: NHL wants Detroit in playoffs. NHL owns Phoenix. NHL tells Phoenix to lay an egg :sarcasm:

Or Occam's Razor applies and PHX isn't that good.

Their off-season moves hurt them. They failed to really replace Whitney and Smith fell back to earth. They really need permanent ownership so their management, which is quite good but limited by league restrictions, can properly build that team.

lol... The only reason I bolded it is because you've mentioned that concept several times.. I notice it because I liked the movie "Contact"! ;)

The simple solution is the simple answer, PHX sucks!!!

Our best hope at a DET loss is, sigh, yes the Kings again. Do they have HIA locked up yet? I hope not, they need to play with serious purpose on Wednesday.

Assuming we win out for 55 points and Detroit wins three giving them 54 points Dallas may love the chance to knock out Detroit on Saturday... but they must beat Detroit at the end of 60 minutes...

THE JACKETS ARE IN IF ...

-- They win their final two games in regulation AND Detroit loses one of its final four in regulation OR goes 3-0-1 with two or more shootout wins. If the Blue Jackets win both of their final games (regulation/overtime/shootout, doesn't matter) the Stars would be eliminated,

-- They go 1-0-1 in the final two games AND Detroit goes 2-1-1 or worse AND Dallas loses any of its last three games, either in regulation or OT/shootout.

-- They go 1-1-0 in the final two games AND Detroit goes 2-2-0 or worse AND Dallas goes 2-1-0 or worse

Its going to be a long, frustrating few days until Thursday night, seeing all these teams behind in the standings playing games and gaining ground. In the end, it doesn't matter but it plays tricks with the mind.

Wow...only single seats left for Saturday's Fantastic Finale and hardly any resale tickets available:handclap:

The awesome Nationwide scalpers (and I mean that-some of the best I've ever worked with) might make some money Saturday.... no $10 seats on Saturday... (assuming we win Thursday.. ;))

I'll say nice things about Jeff Carter until the end of the day each day the Kings benefit the CBJ. No "Ugh, Kings" here.

Also, Detroit winning in regulation means San Jose doesn't clinch, which gives them something to play for tomorrow against...Dallas.

TUESDAY'S ROOTING INTEREST

1) SJS vs DAL - we want SJS to win in regulation (adds to our chances by 6.1% and could all but eliminate DAL from contention)

2) MIN vs LA - we're still chasing MIN, so an LA win will be big, too. A regulation win would add 4.8% to our chances and would ties us with MIN in GP and points.

3) STL vs COL - STL is still a long shot but it wouldn't hurt to root for COL in this game (would raise our chances by .3%

Extra: WPG and FL against WASH and NYR for that lottery pick.

If all goes well tomorrow, chances go up nearly 11% without even playing.

I like your approach to our impacting NHL games.... in terms of % impact... cool.

Two things I took from your post, we love LA more than any team in the NHL other than the CBJ right now....and, Minnesota could be a player in our playoff hopes...

I won't be too upset if Dallas beats San Jose tomorrow in regulation. I think we are going to have to win in Dallas Thursday to get in regardless, so we control our playoff fate versus the Stars without needing other teams to eliminate them.

If San Jose loses tomorrow, they then fly to Phoenix for a back-to-back against the Coyotes. Lose those two and all of sudden they would need to get a point against the dreaded Kings on Saturday to stay ahead of the CBJ if the CBJ win their last two.

Basically, as long as it isn't a 3-point game tomorrow, I'm happy.
