I personally became quite a fan of Ruslan Iskhakov for some time now and can totally recommend it to everyone else too. :)

On the USAhockey website under the rosters for this tournament...he seems very small. What syle player should I expect?

Team USA ends up first in the tournament after beating Finland 4-0 in a game that was closer than the final score. Drew DeRidder played a great game in goal for USA.

Saw today's games. I'm no expert but liked certain players in both games.

Russia vs Sweden
Ruslan Iskhakov #22 stood out. The kid can fly and has puck skills.
I thought #21, Kirill Marchenko was really good too.
Adam Ginning played well I thought. Solid on D, joined the rush.

USA vs. Finland
Bode Wilde played well.
K'Andre Miller is big and talented.
Drew Deridder was very good. Really good.

Anttoni Honka is really a good small D.
I thought Kaapo Kakko is solid. And I just love his name.

Finland was small and fast but the US just overpowered them. Hughes was okay but not a great game.

Deridder really was the man of the hour.

It ended up being a fun tournament, albeit with some inconsistent play from each of the teams. We had a good crowd for the Friday game between USA and Russia (over 2,000) and there was a lot of energy in the building when Team USA mounted their 3rd period comeback. The crowd was a little smaller for last night's USA - Finland game (over 1,700), but there was still excitement in the building -- mostly due to Drew DeRidder's excellent play in net.

At most of the other games -- especially the 3:30pm games -- there were more scouts than fans. In fact, there were about twice as many scouts attending this tourney than the one last season. Supposedly, a lot of the scouts are planning on skipping the U18 World Junior tournament since it's in a remote location in Russia, so instead more came to this tournament than normal.

More the radiation fears than it being remote. It will be interesting if certain federations pull out of the event. Really shitty situation for the scouts, who if the players go, they pretty much will feel an obligation to go. It’s not like they have a union to say this is unacceptable.
