This has probably been done but I haven't seen it.

Toronto - Gardiner, Michalek, SJS 2

Winnipeg - Trouba, Pavelic

This is based off the difficulty GMKC is having signing Trouba. Jets need LHD I am told. They also want to unleash Hellebuyck. Leafs need long term partner for Reilly, perhaps that is Zaitsev, perhaps not. I realize there is a top six RHD with Polak and Carrick as well but having Trouba pushing Polak back would be nice. Replacing Gardiner would be easier than finding someone of Trouba's ilk.

This is a horrible trade for Winnipeg. Michalek doesn't have much value, negative value to some teams. He'd be a third liner with WPG, maybe 4th if they're young players do well. Gardiner is a second pairing guy.

Trouba signing an offer sheet and Peg getting a 1,2,3 would be a lot better for them.

This trade seems to be written with only a Toronto perspective in mind.

Reilly or bust. We're stacked with forwards, we need young, good defensemen, and we won't trade Trouba for lots of smaller pieces. We need the LHD version of Trouba, period.

Pavs is on his last year and can be sheltered as the backup and done.

Michalek is a dump we don't want and have no room for at forward.

No interest down grading from Trouba to Gardiner and get a late 2nd.

Easy pass from Jets. OP bad for the Jets

Michalek is there to offset Pavelic. Both have 1 year left. Greening or Laich could replace him if need be.

Wishful thinking I guess. Something has to give with this Trouba situation though.

I don't think any team wants one of Toronto's scrubs unless they're giving up another scrub for them. I think WPG would much rather have Pavelec. Split time/be a good backup for HellBuck

Are you attempting to reassure yourself or Jets fans of the quality of your proposed trade? Because, quite frankly, this trade is so far out of bounds, trying to justify it to Jets fans (myself being one of them) will only dig you a deeper hole.

Why? Would Lou want Pavelec when it's pretty much known that he's going to sign Enroth here shortly. Besides with Trouba we don't know yet what's going on behind the scenes yet with him. But even if it were true that he wants out of Winnipeg and as of now there's zero proof of it. What makes you think he would want to go to Toronto a team that he despised growing up as a kid in the Detroit area being a diehard Red Wings fan maybe Trouba would rather play in the States then Canada being an American and all we don't know the facts yet but i seriously doubt that this gets the job done here.

Yeah this is a pretty bad offer from the Jets perspective, Pretty sure they could get a much better offer elsewhere if Trouba were to be dealt. And that's not happening yet.

Whatever Gardiner is, Trouba is lower. Both offensively and defensively Gardiner is superior to Trouba and the only thing Trouba has on him is age Which is why i woudnt do this deal. Go ahead and whip out those oh so wonderful stats that you love to bring up. Timashov, Dermott and a 1st is what he's worth with his contract demands.

Let me save everyone 2 days:

OP: Trouba to Toronto!

Jets Fans: Only if Rielly is coming back

Toronto fans: Yeah right bruh Rielly > Trouba

Jets Fans: Bruh advanced stats bruh!

Toronto Fans: Bruh points bruh!

Jets Fans: *Warrior Chart*

Toronto Fans: LOL As if those numbers even matter it's the eye test bruh!

Jets Fans: Bruh eye test? How many Jets games you watch bruh!??!

Toronto Fans: Bruh how many Toronto games you watch Bruh!??!?

And at this point, anyone who came to discuss this is long gone and it's like the same 6 people going back and forth.

There. I saved you all a tonne of time.

Terrible value for Winnipeg. Just think what you would trade for to get Rielly. That is how Winnipeg views Trouba.

Trading for Trouba would either cost Rielly which is a no go or one of our 3 top end prospects which is also probably not worth it yet.

Trouba is pretty underrated and it's easy to pinpoint why.

Trouba with Mark Stuart(His most common pair):

559:51 ice time

Goals for per 60: 2.04
Goals against per 60: 2.46
Corsi For % 48.2

Trouba without Mark Stuart:

834:41 ice time

Goals for per 60: 2.59
Goals against per 60: 1.58
Corsi For %: 54.3
