Hate the Matthews line, Kerfoot is a one man line neuter, cant score, cant pass, cant check, cant defend.
Love the Nylander line.
Tavares on the 3rd line.. hmmmm tell me more.

Not sure playing two defensive wrecks on the 3rd pairing is smart but if that means Riellys ATOI is below 17 min, I'm happy with that.

Hmm still seems to indicatethat Schenn will be a staple in the lineup when he returns.

I know the Gio-Holl pairing sucked last game but if you kept them in the easy matchups and went:

McCabe-Liljegren
Rielly-Brodie
Giordano-Holl

you have three defensively reaponsible pairings that can move the puck well from at least one side. Brodie or Liljegren are the only guys that male sense for Rielly. Schenn doesn't have to footspeed for what he needs.

Noting, Schenn is back in Toronto now, and likely playing.. meaning 7 D. Simmonds probably to come out.

You won't be if Gustaffson is playing over Holl. He is Gardiner V2.
 
Gustafson Holl and Timmer should be 3 guys out of lineup when playoffs start

Rielly Lily
Gio Schenn

If Rielly is giving p too many chances against then slide him to 3rd pair with Schenn and move up Gio with Lily

I don't think we have a chance against Tampa unless we get da D pairings right and give them a chance to play together down stretch .. Holl comes in if someone goes down with an injury

Holl is better than Lilli. We've explored this in the other thread. Every time we've won protecting a 1 goal lead, Holl and whomever is put on the ice in the final minutes with the net pulled to close it out.

Could Lilli do that? Maybe? But maybe not.

At best you will only get the same.

But I hope it irks you that you have to give props to Holl for being a great "closer" since we are a top 5 team this season...and he's to blame for that.

Healthy playoff lineup would probably look something like this (from Keefe's perspective not necessarily what I want to see):

Bunting/Knies-Matthews-Marner
Nylander-ROR-Lafferty
Knies/Bunting-Tavares-Jarnkrok
Kerfoot-Acciari-Kampf/ZAR

McCabe-Brodie
Giordano-Liljegren/Holl
Rielly-Schenn/Liljegren

Samsonov starts game 1

Yes Holl is fine on the PK and defending a lead when everyone on the ice is focusing with him on defense first. There is no reason to believe Lilijgren couldn't excel during that tiny part of the game. The majority of the game (the part that's not PK or last minute) Lilijgren pretty much blows him out of the water.

It's not a secret, there is no 'hope' involved(whatever that means), everyone knows this.

The amount of top 5 picks Edmonton has gotten in the recent past and still continued to suck including Hall for Larson trade, picking Yakupov, and other crap

yea... if there is a failure in the league it is Edmonton. It is a freakin JOKE that McDavid landed in Edmonton. That trash team doesn't deserve a talent like McJesus
