The only thing that excites me about this is the fan convention, as when I went as a kid, I remember some awesome and truly unique collectables from cards to rare jerseys. Actually found my dad a unique Gretzky jersey (Gretzky famously tucked his Jersey in, and it didn't show the jersey manufacturer logo, so for him specifically, they started putting them on both sides). I'll def check out the fan convention if its at Toronto Convention Center. And, I'm happy a ton of kids passionate about hockey will get an opportunity to go to it, I have a great memory of meeting Terrible Ted there (Still have his autograph) talking about the formation of the NHLPA and the hardships he experienced related to it. That stuff means way more to me than the Skills competition and the actual game. Now, in Toronto we are lucky enough we already have the Hall of Fame to take kids somewhere to learn about the history of the game, and also getting to use some fun interactive games.

I don't think there is anywhere else in North America where you will find as many kids between 5-12 who are passionate about the game who will love getting to experience that stuff if well pulled off.

thought players did not want to go to cold weather places?
I read about that and then read this thread…NHL SKDH. My opinion is Bettman has done a lot for hockey but they need some new blood steering the leaugue

Personally I can't wait for the Discover® meatball eating contest at The Old Spaghetti Factory brought to you by Enterprise Rent-A-Car.

They should go back to NA sv World or East vs West. This 3 on 3 is getting stale.

Was warm as hell here yesterday. Players and their families would’ve loved it.

This was my first thought. Same day they say players don't want cold, they announce a cold city.
Last month on January 11 there was an article in the Toronto Star reporting that the Leafs would be selected to host next years All Star Game.

Just because Elliotte Friedman reported some players want the game to played in a warm weather city doesn't mean anything. So, it's not like Los Angeles was going to be hosting it and at the last minute the NHL decided to change their minds and give it Toronto.

Temperature in Toronto vs. A place like Edmonton is quite drastic. Edmonton is coming out of a -30 cold snap, Vancouver and Toronto have no snow left. This is the kind of weather they don’t want
