With Tarasenko still wanting out from what insiders are saying, and with St.Louis looking for a top 4 LHD,I wonder if there's a deal to be made between the two teams.

To Toronto-
Tarasenko
Kyrou
Bortuzzo
1st Round Pick

To St.Louis-
Marner
Rielly
Engvall

This is horrific, so no thank you. Kyrou is worth two 1sts on his own at a minimum where he is right now, Tarasenko is worth a 1st and a top prospect, a 1st is worth a 1st, so this is like 5 1sts worth of value plus a needed defensive piece for guys you want to get rid of. Typical Toronto. This offer is cataclysmically bad.

Normally your proposals are TOR heavy but this one heavily favors STL.

TOR loses this big time.
The part where Toronto gains 5.5M in cap space and the Blues have to immediately sell another main player for futures especially favors the Blues I bet. You really nailed it, the guy gave the Blues this thoughtful proposal heavily in their favor.

If there is genuine Toronto interest in Tarasenko, it's your 2022 1st + a prospect that the Blues like better than the top prospect whichever other eastern contender will part with. It's two seasons, not one, so the prospect will have to be legit.

Maybe TOR can retain a bit of Riellys caphit
Marner and Rielly are the two best players in the deal as of right now.
Tank has some work to do to be worth his caphit again.

Why some get so upset over a fantasy trade proposal on the internet is bizarre.

NO. No interest in Marner eating up 11 million in cap space. BIG EASY PASS.

Lets tap the breaks here just a tad shall we? Two 1st's at a MINIMUM? I think he is a good player but your nuts if you think he is worth at least 2 1st's. The trade overall is poor but c'mon man.

Tank has some work to do to be worth his caphit again.
Tarasenko has no work to do to be worth his cap hit again. He is leading the NHL in shots, has 3g, 3a in 5gp and has had additional breakaways and power moves to the slot like old Tarasenko. You don't have to value him that way but we aren't the ones trying to sell him to you. Honestly Toronto can't afford him capwise anyway.

Kyrou has the most trade value of any player in the deal right now. The Blues value him like an emerging NHL star on an amazing contract for two seasons. He is 8.103M cheaper than Marner, and let's just say for comparison's sake, none of us are grumbling about Kyrou or talking about getting rid of him.

Reilly is expiring and if he were going straight across for Tarasenko the Blues would not be adding at all. But here the Blues! are adding in the extra 1st rounder.

Because it is so transparently a Marner/Kyrou deal, the whole idea is not going to ever actually be considered in the real world, that's one of the proposal's other drawbacks.

Not going to comment on the trade itself, but at the very least, Toronto would have to retain 50% of Rielly's salary for the remainder of this season...

yeah, no reason to get worked up about this stuff lol

that being said, those 'two best players' come with ~16m in cap hit, and one of them has no term left

and while Vladi has a bit of work to re-establish his value, he's well on his way. he looks every bit of the 30+ goal scorer he's always been, and Kyrou ain't far behind. there's tremendous value for what Kyrou is providing vs his salary/cap hit

just makes no sense for STL outside of "vladi wants to be traded"

The Blues value him as an emerging star on an extremely valuable bang for the buck deal.

You don't think an emerging star on a great deal at the end of which he's an RFA is worth two first round picks at a minimum, then I don't know what to tell you.

Whoops I see you went back and edited this in. Disdain is different than upset. There was no thought put into this trade. I hold disdain for it. Like holding disdain for going back and editing in a snipe. Disdain.

This isn't that far fetched. We quietly heard Moran 4 name being whispered....

The OP is notorious for lopsided deals in favor of TOR.
Was more sarcastically saying they went out of their way this time around.

This deal doesn't happen of course. STL already has a ton of money committed to defense and as you said, Marners caphit can't work.

Blues fans agree it is lopsided this time too
