Matt Bonner is doing a great job on the telecasts and on the Raptors radio show at 11am. I've always liked him particularly since he continues to take the TTC to work as he did when he played for us. He shares some great stories of his experience with coach Pop.

I like when Mirtle is on with JD.
JD is growing on me. I've yet to actually listen to his show, just catch him on Leafs Talk post-game.
The Athletic podcast would be so much better without Jonas. Mirtle brings interesting points, but his partner is a purposely obtuse, overly negative, STOOGE. Nobody likes this guy, why does he have a gig?
I have generally enjoyed Jonas, but totally agree that (for me) lately he has been very negative. Recent example was after the McCabe signing, he seemed legit pissed. Mirtle was calling him on his bs going through logical reasons why it made sense for both sides.

He did a 180 a couple of summers back. Literally from one episode to the next.

I went for the annual subscription, but next year I will have to pay more as well:
How is it cheaper to get it on Bell fibe app, it's only $10 and you can use the sportsnet apps as well.

I guess I'm lucky i get the base cost of the bell fibe app as a free credit on my fiber internet account.

but speaking of the app. They updated the Sportsnet app on the Amazon Firesticks, and it's been horrible. any show or event that you restart while its still airing is 5 minutes behind, so you have to fast forward exactly 5 minutes for it to start.

Not to mention the constant errors during games or shows like "unauthorized" or "not available in your region" etc etc...

I don't have any TV services. I went from full cable to just a handful of subscriptions this year. I saved a lot of money each month.

yeah i cut the traditional tv cord in 2015. used a gray market sports streaming site for maybe 6 years before it was shut down, and since then i've just added sportsnet ($10) or sportsnet+tsn ($15) on the bell streaming app that they provide as a bill credit (normally $15, like "basic cable").

Writing a tell all book while still playing wreaks of desperation. Leafs org lives in kadris head rent free.

Overdrive carving Dubas right now

For anyone interested, The Realy Kyper and Bourne had a great 'intenst' segment discussing the Marner contract situation. They do not agree, to say the least.

Unrelated to above, has anyone noticed CJ seems to be way off his game lately? It's like he is in a 'don't give a shit' mood. Recent example, he was on for a First Up Leafs segment this morning (Nov 19), and was ill prepared, had no idea what their contract or cap situation was in reference to the Leafs bringing anyone up from the minors of back from IR; would have taken 5 minutes research to have that in his hand for the short segment. If he's isn't brining in any insight, what is the point of him?

Some people have said that since Dubas left, he's been dropping the ball, perhaps he doesn't have that level of access from the new management and perhaps coach now as well.

Fair enough. I will say though, it is one thing to not have access to inside information, it's another to go on talk shows unprepared even with publically available information.

I saw that and Kyper was way, way off. The whole Draisaitl comparison was ridiculous.

But all 3 of them (Bourne and someone's nephew that acts like a 15 y.o. in an adult body) completely overlooked the effect that a Marner extension will have on the Leafs. They were talking about his next deal completely in a vacuum.

Just look at the depth issues the team has now and that is in no small part to the raise given to both Matthews and Nylander. Even if the cap goes up significantly next year and Tavares is either gone or signed to a much lower AAV, they are still going to have issues filling out the roster.

Every year this team's forward depth gets worse and worse.

Really surprised that they didn't even touch on that as it should be a huge part of the decision process. Of course, we all know what MLSE will do: Drive the Brinks truck up to Mitch's door and let him take whatever he wants, but it's at least a discussion.

Kyper's take was straight up weird.

Agree, none of them had the big picture in mind, which was fine for that discussion. Bourne and Sammy were both on point stating that Marner is nothing like Draisaitl, especially come playoff time. Kyper was acting like a friend of the family there (or agent), it was embarassing imo.

I agree, Kyper was strange on that argument.

Mitch vs Leon is not even an argument, even considering that Leon has played for 2 more seasons than Mitch.

Our lousy media carries the water for the league once again. Sportsnet panel justifying the non-call saying Whitecloud “didn’t leave his feet” while showing footage of him clearly doing so. Mike Johnson on Twitter fighting for his life to justify the non-call.
