Agreed. Don't say anything like this on the Leafs reddit though... they love all things Dangle.. get downvoted into oblivion for not worshipping the guy.

For me Kipper and Bourne have easily jumped to #1. Overdrive is still good from time to time. Like overdrive was a good listen on the way home from work this week.

But I still find myself going to YouTube to watch kipper and Bourne. Their insight is a little more rational. But Overdrive is hilarious and bringing back Al’s Brother has definitely caught my attention.

I hate to say it but the show is the best whenever Noodles is away. He just doesn’t know about other sports. Hayes is a great host and Jeff has honestly come a long way since the beginnings from when him and Hayes would go at it durin g commercial breaks hahaha

Real Kyper and Bourne is concentrated hockey content, whereas Overdrive needs to fill too much air time with general sports talk, skits and whatnot.

What annoys me with any TSN property, especially OverDrive, is leading the show off with NFL coverage. Like if its a playoff game/Superbowl, obviously go for it, but a random NFL discussion when theres Leafs news is dumb. I get why they do it (NFL on TSN coverage, not being the NHL rightsholders), but come on. Hockey talk drives sports radio in this country.

Also talking abut their fantasy teams. No one gives a flying **** about your fantasy team.

Casual NFL talk is so annoying.

Hah, i just read it, wow. I started clicking on twitter links of the people he mentioned, and my god, you have to wonder if a partial reason for the failure was their obvious attempt to check "every box".

Why? NFL is by far the biggest sport in North America, it's bigger than the NBA and MLB in Toronto even without a team.

It's the golf talk their personal game I don't give a shit and PGA tour is so far down the list is popularity unless you have a legit rooting interest

I guess it adds to the feeling like they’re your buddies but there’s got to be a balance between real information and chatter. Kypreos and Bourne have been better this year.

I think there is one on 590 The Fan with Gord Stellick and... someone else. Unconfirmed!

There is a podcast called Leafs Talk with JD Bunkis and Sam McKee (Bournie fills in sometimes). This one streams on Youtube I think, so they read the chat sometimes. They don't take calls. It is also a podcast.

I remember listening once and a fan said the leafs should trade for the winger that plays with Joe Thornton on the sharks.

TSN is the rights holder for the NFL up here, so it's no surprise their top radio show spends a significant amount of time talking about it. And some may not believe it, but the NFL is huge in Canada, especially in Southern Ontario.

Also, it's way more entertaining than the other non-hockey sports. Basketball isn't all that fun unless there's drama and there's literally nothing to talk about for Baseball

I've hated the gambling talk on all the radio/tv/podcasts since the shit went legal in Ontario.

I don't gamble on sports i dont even buy lottery tickets... i hate it.

Anyone else read the Revival book by Cox and Stellick about the ‘77-‘78 Leafs? I thought it was interesting even though I was born just after that period.
I worry the current Leafs will be looked back on in the same way; some exciting players but ultimately never amounting to much. Although it sounds like the core of that late 70’s team was dismantled prematurely.
