Feels like The Grappler had some behind the scenes influence in the management team..... Gotta get this guy back even if it's only a couple hours a week.

Bengals offense looks completely lost without Burrow. Game kinda needs an asterisk.

Excited to have Al’s Brother back - unreal.

On a side note, does anyone remember the ad that they got the “tremendous information “ saying from again? Does anyone remember that?

Yea... it was some guy who sounded like he had a New York accent claiming he had 'tremendous information' for the games of the night... money line, over under, injuries, etc.

I do not remember the name of the betting site it was promoting.

I really like Al"s brother in the Toronto sports scene. He's just a knowledgeable dude who is obsessed with sports and gambling and has a great ability to shoot the shit with people and give some insight and opinions. Some of the exchanges between him and Hayes or Odog were entertaining. The Al's brother showing up with a charcuterie board used to crack me up.

I like Luke Wilson too but he can be a bit over the top with his NFL talk. This is Toronto I want hockey hot takes and some Jays talk that's about it. Hearing in depth discussion about the NFL to me is just white noise. Totally makes me want to change the channel when they start droning on about NFL intricacies.

The NFL is huge in Canada, so they definitely should be spending time on it. There isn't much news surrounding the Jays at the moment and you can't talk hockey for 3 hours on a show like this

The football segments are more entertaining than the other non-hockey ones for me

It's boring to me and I watch some games and the NFL playoffs. There's just so many positions and variables and players have short careers there's not much that intrigues me other than legacy players like Brady or Mahomes. Just my personal opinion. But they definitely should have way more hockey talk and specifically the Leafs on Overdrive. The ratio is way off for catering to the Toronto market.

I think you underestimate the amount of football fans in the GTA. Not to mention TSN has the NFL rights, so they'll want their #1 radio show talking football more.

Now that Kyper and Bourne are on I listen to them for two hours and switch to OD after.

I agree, too much NFL and basketball talk on TSN1050.

Overdrive boys seem to think Liljegren is a 6th dman plug while a lot of people on here think he was Torontos 2nd best dman this year, quite the wide gulf in opinions.

They also thought Nylander was near useless till just recently. There's a reason these guys are on the radio and not in an org. Its just entertainment.

it is but they talk as if they know everything, I would be more entertained by talking heads that have a bit more reason and far less bravado. Same as Kypper - the guy talks like he has all the answers. Guys like Scott Morrison and Bob MacKenzie (years ago) were the guys I liked. Knew their shit but didn't talk like they had al the answers.

So I'm not the only one who can't get into football? Just does nothing for me. Like everyone else, I'll watch the conference championship games and the super bowl, but the level of obsession that people have with it is beyond me. There is so little actual action in football. They need to speed the game up.

Speak for yourself. I will not watch the NFL, not ever.

I do like football though so watch the CFL and university football (college in the US, university here).

But the NFL and everyone involved with it can go eff themselves.

It also took them like two years of the Leafs being a good defensive team before they finally realized it/acknowledged it which was kinda bizarre and hard to explain.

I am a dog owner and a dog lover. Hell, I prefer dogs to people most of the time.

When that piece of trash Micheal Vick was released from prison after doing time for dog fighting, torturing dogs, etc. the NFL lifted his suspension and allowed him to return to the league. That league is run by pieces of shit, and I will never support such a league.

Also, if you look up the list of NFL players who have been charged with crimes, including murder, you will see that the nickname "National Felon's League" is absolutely appropriate. That is another reason why I will never support that league.

Do you feel the same about the NHL?
Craig Mactavish killed someone and stepped right back into the league once out of prison.

Mactavish did something monumentally stupid, at a time when drinking & driving wasn't seen in the same way it is today (not saying that was right, just that it was reality back then). But there is a huge difference between doing something stupid and the conscious decisions made by the NFL players.

And one, or even a handful, of NHL players that you might list isn't in the same universe as the number of NFL players who have been charged with serious crimes. The list I linked is just for the last 23 years and runs to 54 flippin' pages!!! They are not in the same universe.

Yep there’s no doubt the players come from a different back ground. Lots of skeletons in every leagues closet though.
I also believe that once you’ve paid your debt, the slates clean unless you prove otherwise.

IMO NFL is the greatest league in the world

If you get caught with pot? Sure. Assault after a stupid bar brawl? OK. But homicide, domestic violence, sexual assault, etc.? No, you made a conscious decision and the slate should not be wiped clean.

And IMO it is a league run by scum with players who are often worse than scum. My favourite week every year is the week after the Super Bore because we can stop hearing about that trash league for a few months.

I can see why you get along better with dogs than people. Being so angry is not healthy

I think we all have our sports we like and don't like.

Clearly we are all NHL/Leafs fans but things will vary from there.

Like @ACC1224, I am a huge NFL fan! So enjoy the NFL segments on Overdrive. I tune out for all golf, baseball and basketball segments though.
