Most players would do that and not worry about it.

No they don't
Most of the higher end guys sign 6-8 year deals over recent history

Except our guy, works out he's a genius but if he misjudges it he could cost himself 10's of millions of dollars

Rogers and Bell continue to do their best to use their sports media monopoly to divide the fan base.

A divide and conquer strategy. Using their weapons of slander and propaganda. They turn the fan base on themselves.

This is how they treat the "greatest fan base in the world"?

Only if we let them. Which is why fan forums like this are so important. United we stand, divided we fall.

We rise and fall as one people.

One flag, One land.
One heart, One hand.

One Nation.

Now is not the time for fun and games. To indulge in self-righteous fetishisms and personal paraphilia. To lay naked and prone at our masters feet.

Now is the time for action.

Now is the time to rise above prejudice and perfidy. Above depravity and degeneracy. Above baseness and brutality.

Now is the time to pass judgement on those who judge us.

Those who corrupt from above. Corroding the fanbase below. Spreading their toxicity across the fan base.

Like a pool of black oil oozing across the land.

We are one squad.

One tribe, one clan.
One brotherhood, one band.

We are the GREATEST fan base in the world.

We are LEAFS NATION.

Take your sports media empire and shove it up your ass Rogers and Bell.

Dont know where to put this but I currently have Rogers tv and internet. For the most part its fine.

I love how I can speak into the remote i.e say Netflix or Seinfeld. Also love that it has Apple TV. Prime, Netflix etc all built in.

This package costs me around $200 a month (tv, home phone and internet).

Bell is calling aggressively for the same package for only $100 a month.

Does anyone have any experince with the latest Bell set top box and their services compared to Rogers?

Bell is generally the same. As for prices, when your discount expires you'll pay the same or more after switching from one to the other.

If winning was a priority, then these players will take less this time around, Keefe will be fired, Dubas would have been fired for performance related reasons, and one of the core four would have been traded by now.

The lack of accountability in this organization Leafs me to believe they don't really care about winning.

It's all about the money.
They won't do what you want so they're not trying to win? That sounds rather childish.

I think we can agree we want to see them win.

There are many things we can agree to disagree on. But as fans of this team, seeing them win the cup should be something we all can come to terms on. So far they haven't contended yet.

So they're not doing what any fan of the team wants.

The fact Dubas was let go for anything other than performance related reasons doesn't sound like an organization that is making winning a priority to me.

Nice to see Nylander having a good time.

My point, which I think you realized full well, was that this organization is lacking in accountability.

There's nothing childish about expecting a multi-billion dollar organization to hold it's millionaire employees accountable.

You hold McDonald's employees to a standard, and they only make minimum wage.

You must have some level of standard minimum expectation for this team in your mind don't you?

Not sure this is the correct forum BUT what’s up with TSN website and coverage etc. Does anyone work there? I noticed months ago their web site sucks. I really like TSN on TV but their website is brutal. To the point I only open sportsnet site. Not sure whats happening at TSN.

Someone, many years ago, decided the website needed to look fresher and to be "easier to navigate".

So they destroyed the whole thing.

TSN used to be the go to. Information was easier and cleaner to obtain there than on the NBA and NHL site.

And now, it's a disaster to keep track of anything.

Bell Fibe is pretty similar, though I don't know about all the features as I just use the apps on the tv instead of through the set top box.

Listening to Hayes and Noodles talk about Nylander comparables the last couple days has been infuriating. Today they claim that Nylander should get around what Meier got because he had 40 goals, apparently the fact that Meier only had 66 points and Nylander had 87 is irrelevant.
Yesterday they claimed that Dubois is on the same level as Nylander and Noodles claimed that Dubois had 77 pts in 73 games which is a lie, he had 63.

Yeah he misread Dubois' penalty minutes as his points. Was really hoping someone would correct him, but didn't happen.

Agreed. The new format looks like a blog management software which is probably easier (cheaper) for them to administrate.

Loved the debate on free agency frenzie, Brian Hays and Mike Johnson. Fun and worth a real discussion. It was over AM next contract. I am with Hayes. Instead of AM going for as much as he can e.g. same/more percentage of the cap to be the highest paid. Stop and think about the team a bit. Have a serious conversation with your agent AM.

I think it is pretty clear that these guys are more about themselves than the team. This cannot be a surprise at this point. The fact that every decent trade deadline acquisition has bolted for the door as soon as they could is telling. Those players can all see what this core is about... and it is not about laying it all on the line to win.

I see Mike's point, but I feel Hayes is right.

I see Mike's point, but I feel Hayes is right.
Johnny played in the league, and played high level much more recently than Hayes.
Johnny has many connections to the game to this day.
Johnny has a degree in business and was looking into becoming a financial analyst.
Hayes has a degree in broadcasting and ran a casino.

It's not to put Hayes down in any way, I think he is now the best radio host and is moving his way up in the television world.

Hayes has tons of insight and a strong understanding of the game, but he lets his emotions and love for the team cloud his mind at times.

Johnny is clearly a fan of the team, but he seems to disconnect his emotions and put on the straight analyst hat on at a whim. His analysis can be very cold and calculated.

In terms of player contracts, you have to trust the guy with more education on the matter, more personal experience, and deeper connections within the NHL world.

Jim-Ralph-Joe-Bowen-e1688690043395.jpg

Though the decision has gone to overtime, there is renewed optimism Joe Bowen and Jim Ralph will be back on radio for Maple Leafs games in 2023-24.

After weeks of uncertainty that included Bowen and Ralph delivering some farewell remarks in case the May 12 elimination loss to Florida was the last time the popular duo was at the mic, a source familiar with the situation said a new contract with Sportsnet, TSN and Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment is being worked out. Nothing official is completed.

The 72-year-old Hall of Fame broadcaster Bowen has called radio since 1982, and for many years, televised games, for various Leafs-affiliated networks and partnered with former minor hockey goaltender Ralph more than two decades.

With their bosses having kept the duo off the road since the COVID-19 crisis to save money, other than letting them travel to Florida in the playoffs, there had been industry talk the two might be let go and not even be replaced if the networks chose to go the simulcast route.
