Imagine a young journalist being able to fulfill her dream and gets a gig reporting Leafs at a time when everything looked up. After 5 years of reporting nothing but failure I don’t blame her for jumping ship. Good luck on your next endeavour.

Some comic relief: I think I just heard Dreger fart on air. LOL

27:06 mark of Leafs Lunch (26th)

So Overdrive just showed today they care about friends and not serious issues. They didn't criticize Q at all or anything. Westhead came on and after he left, they changed the topic. Jeff and Jamie would't dare criticize Q because "old boys club stick together". Jamie actually said "let the process play out". Thats done with Jamie. Q is to blame too for what happened but you wouldn't mention that.

I didn’t listen, did they at least have the balls to say Q should not be behind the bench like pretty much every hockey pundits in the Country?

Noodles definitely being a punk about it. I think O made some big picture proclamations about everyone involved needing to go and Hayes was warming up to roast them all but could tell he was holding back a bit pending more info.
Noodles has no spine.

Not only Q. Many others have some splaining to do, including NHL, NHLPA and former teammates. This stink will spread far and wide and hopefully those who knew and said nothing will pay.
Listen to interviews with Toews, Kane and Kieth and decide for yourself, but I don't believe them.

Couldn't agree more. In a world where people are getting fired for crazy things, this one is a no brainer. To cover up something as serious as that is mind boggling. Who knows how many lives it cost as many victims are often shells of themselves in later life. This one really bothers me. Every victim thereafter could have been saved. Gutless

I think some people are being tough on people unfairly (looking at Overdrive specifically).

I don’t think it makes sense to expect or ask the Overdrive guys to provide any insight or value on the Beach story. They kept the Westhead interview pretty vanilla. No real added value other than what Rick was saying which is fine from a show that like. Overdrive isn’t a news show, it’s entertainment. Going there for journalism or news makes no sense. None of those guys are trained journalists and really are just former athletes with no formal education for broadcasting.

I look at it like this. You wouldn’t go to a guy who specializes in oil changes for real car work. You wouldn’t go to corporate lawyer for family law advise. You wouldn’t go to an auditor for tax advice.

Chris Johnston said it pretty well for some of the criticism of journalists. Not everyone is comfortable or skilled as an investigative journalist. He wouldn’t be able to do it justice.

The trio on the fan morning show have absolutely no chemistry. Blake Murphy really likes talking over Alish and telling her that her opinion/thoughts are bad and I can't tell if it's banter or not. It's hard to listen to.

TSN also needs to find a real host for their morning show now that Landsberg is gone.

The mornings really suck now, I'm just listening to 1010 or podcasts

People aren't asking Overdrive to start digging through legal files, reach out to lawyers etc. They expect the people on the show to use their platform for good. I haven't personally listened to the Overdrive segment, but if what people in here are saying is true, its completely counter intuitive if the people on overdrive are not condemning what Q/Stan Bowman etc have done. It sends the wrong message to the listeners. Chris Johnston had no problem taking accountability for himself, and had no issue calling out the NHL and members of the Blackhawks organization at the time.

Jeff and Noodles are both deeply rooted in hockey culture as they have had long careers in the NHL. Its not really a shock that they wouldn't criticize what Q did. Thats the issue here.

I didn't listen to the segment, nor do I care to, but O'Neill and Noodles come across completely as "boys will be boys" types who believe whatever happens behind closed doors stays within the team.

Yeah, when I listen to the morning show you can tell it wont last more than a couple years at best.

"Old boys network" or network of secrets? I've seen it suggested that for every one of these shared shameful secrets that get exposed there are many more that never see the light of day.

Hopefully Scott MacArthur resurfaces at TSN on their morning show. He was great on the Fan 590 mornings. Can’t believe they let him go for Murphy and Alish.

Im not really sure where he got that from at all to be quite honest. I listened again to the interview and the 10 mins before and after the Westhead interview. The only comment on another was Bowman and it was “he pointed the blame elsewhere on his way out, tried to deflect and his statement wasn’t enough”.

Listening again today and Jamie clearly said it Queneville should not have been coaching the other night and it was an awful look for the league. All agreed that he should lose his job.

He should be doing a baseball show, not a morning show. That's probably what his next role will be.
