Team needs to bear down here and pot some chances. Woll has kept us in games this year so they need to return the favor if Woll is going to have a not so great night.

Ive never liked these short term contracts, because there is that risk for the player that they could sustain a series injury and loose big money. So, why would they not play more timid?

Except Sundin contract was never a bad one. He was actually underpaid in comparison
He always lived up to his contract

Trouba on the other hand has no trade clause and owed 8 million for a very medicore defensemen

Why, so every team in the league can pull the shit the Rangers just did with Trouba and the Lightning did with McDonough a few years ago? IMO, if you hand out a no-trade, you shouldn't be pulling nasty shit to force players to waive it. That's Harold Ballard levels of bad management.

Yeah for sure. The Leafs were a tightly run ship on survival mode without Matthews. And with him it’s like they have their inconsistent lead dog and it’s up and down.

Sundin didn’t have Matthews’ cheat code scoring touch so I think he was generally more dialled in to playing the game whereas you can see Matthews engagement level takes a dip cause he knows he can flip a switch on many nights. Not the elite drive train player he was advertised as when we he first came up.

Part of me really appreciate's Torts old school mentality.
Other part though really hates him and finds him super outdated

The problem with Sundin was he was the Mitch Marner and Auston Matthews of his line

Only had a marner in Mogilny in OT and on the PP

They were beautiful together
