A 82 game schedule doesn’t seem to bother Kucherov, Mackinnon and McDavid at the top of the leaderboards.

Matthews is so bad right now. Has been hesitating to carry the puck in open ice, doesn’t take the zone entry carrying the puck, weird passes all over the place. Non existent shot. I don’t know how you go from the A game to this.

The fault is never in his games

Compare that to colorado fans expectations of rantanen and Mackinnon, edmontons expectations of Mcdavid and draisaitl, hell compare it to marners expectations and it’s not even close

I’ve been apart of it too, until game 35 I was harping on Marner like crazy, but Matthews always has excuses made for him

He hasn't looked effective against a good team for awhile, has his moments but nowhere near what you expect from a player his caliber. I don't now what's going on, but he's disappointing right now. Earlier this year he was putting the team in his back. I hoped he was finally leading, but what I've seen against the big teams, he's anything but and actually a drag on his lien, which is incredible. Why doesn't he want the puck?
