i expect them to win the first game, being that the leafs will have a game under their belts and this is the first game for ottawa.

Than promptly lose the second game because you know- the leafs.

Leafs 4--2. However, I would like to see lineup changes:
Hyman Matthews Marner
Mikheyev Tavares Nylander
Robertson Kerfoot Vesey
Thornton Spezza Simmonds
Rielly Brodie
Muzzin Holl
Lehtonen Sandin/Dermott
Thoughts? I think Hyman is lost on 3rd line and Thornton needs to go down to 4th. Vesey should play with Kerfoot and Robertson in for Barabanov. I also think Lehtonen should be in. Bogosian didn't look sharp last night.

That 4th line will have circles skated around them. Gotta split them up.

Keefe stated in preseason that it has been a topic of discussion in meetings about the importance of maintaining intensity and compete level during the season. Putting themselves in the best possible position and playoff seeding. The disturbing trend the past few seasons has seen the team take far too many nights off in terms of effort and compete. Teams like the Sens can beat you if you just try to get by on your skill. I hope to see this trend start to change beginning this weekend. No excuse not to get 3 points minimum in Ottawa this weekend.

Plus it will shut up the Sens fans that I'm surrounded by (at least it's only virtually these days).

Change the lines to the following:

Hyman Matthews Nylander
Vesey Tavares Marner
Mikheyev Kerfoot Simmonds
Robertson Thornton Spezza

Just a note for those talking about lineup changes. The only player on our current roster, who is waiver exempt, is Barabanov. If you want to make a change, he's the only guy who can come out, and only one person can come up. That is, unless you wish to expose someone else, to waivers.

Ottawa always gives us trouble for some reason. Please end that trend this season

First of two games in Ottawa this weekend. We play both Friday and Saturday night against the Senators.

This is a good chance to get off to a really good start to the year.

I wouldn’t be shocked if Campbell makes his season debut on Friday.

Perhaps Lehtonen gets in as well.
I heard Dermott got in because he wouldn't have cleared waivers, and Lehtonen doesn't have to be put on waivers. I'm assuming Bogosian would also have to clear waivers as well if he were to come out. If that's true, Lehtonen probably won't get in unless there's an injury, correct?

Look for Lehtonen to come in (assuming no injuries to the top 6) only if they go 11F and 7 D. Until they accrue enough cap space to carry 22 players which might take a month or so....someone can figure out with more accuracy.

The only F that can come out if they want to go 11F / 7D as someone else states is Barabanov - anyone else requires waivers to go on the taxi squad.

This should become a thing moving forward. Back-to-back games in the same arena against a divisional rival. Bring it on! I'd rather see that than games against SJ or LA or some other west coast team. NHL has too many inter-conference games.

Wait what? I thought that's what the taxi squad was for. How does this all work?

You still need cap to work and we can't afford to have anyone without someone coming off. Dell is our extra right now, so unless you want to waive someone off of the main roster (or send down Barabanov), then he is the guy to go.

I would love to see Boyd draw in for that 4th line spot.

What it should have been from the start. No idea what Keefe was thinking having Thornton on the first line.
